About this mod

Adds two new samurai swords (a one-handed Katana and a two-handed O-Katana), each with two visually distinct and very detailed upgrades. If you ever wanted an electrified, two-handed Samurai Sword, this might be the mod for you.

This mod was directly inspired by the mod Livewire - The Shishkebabs Better Half by lolzinator42.
It was always my favorite melee weapon in New Vegas, so I wanted to have something similar in Fallout 4, so I made it myself.

This is my very first mod and I learned quite a bit and still have a lot to learn but I did my best and hope you enjoy it and I'm so happy I got this finished and can now finally give something back to the modding community, after about a decade of modding my Bethesda games.
I hope you enjoy it and please let me know if there are any bugs, typos, other weirdness, or if you have any suggestions or improvements for me.

XBOX VERSION HERE:

FEATURES

  • A one-handed Katana
  • A two-handed O-Katana.
  • Three blade mods, two grip mods, and two FX mods for the electric blades.
  • Extra damage against robots, synths, turrets, and power armor with both electrical upgrades.
  • A small, new location.
  • A new, non-linear quest to get you to every part of the mod.
  • Scripted Injection into the Legendary leveled list.
  • Two decorative misc-objects.
  • New electrical Crit effect with custom sound effect.
  • Microfusion cell / fusion core textures are compatible with retextures.
  • Different texture resolutions. (4k, 2k, 1k)
  • Optional Cyberout77 Patch. (only works with the Katana and not the O-katana since the animations were made for one-handed weapons)
  • Optional CROSS Crit Gore-verhaul Patch.
  • Something silly and secret.
  • A debug room with a very immersive teleport

WHERE TO FIND / HOW TO START

You start the quest by either finding a note on a corpse inside Hubris Comics and following the instructions or by going to the following location and then going a tiny bit more north:
Don't click me if you want to find it yourself!
You also need to have the quest Call to Arms completed or started and progressed far enough to delve into the lower levels of the Arcjet Systems building.

KNOWN ISSUES

Sometimes the lights on the weapon are misaligned, which can be easily fixed by blocking.
The animations and the effects stop moving when the weapon settles, which also happens with vanilla weapons and might not be fixable.

FUTURE PLANS

  • An installer (FOMOD)
  • I want to look into custom sounds but I don't know anything about audio design, so no promises.
  • I want to make a little optional file that makes the electrified blades shock you if you didn't also add an insulated grip to the weapon like it has been suggested on one of my preview pictures.
  • ESL version.  Done
  • Upload to Bethesda.net. ITS OUT! https://bethesda.net/en/mods/fallout4/mod-detail/4275322
  • Cyberout animation patch DONE! It's in the optional files.
