This mod sounds perfect. I place like a billion turrets everywhere in my game, so the "beep" is absolute ear-r@pe. Glad someone took the time to get rid of the monstrosity known as The Turret Beep.
Tell me, does this work on modded turrets as well?
While I find the sound somewhat annoying, for me it is more about immersion. If I'm hiding behind something, standing and not sneaking, but also cannot see the turret (this happens a lot for me), as soon as the I hear that sound, I know I'm good to go for a quick move.
Who in their right mind would design a turret thats lets their enemy know when they are in the clear...no one, that's who.
Well I agree with this completely. I like being in a situation where I dont know whether the 3 laser turrets will shred me or not, as soon as I lose my cover
I just noticed ingame that I didnt catch all turret alarm sounds. There were 3 more sounds in xwm format I didn't cover on the first try. That's fixed now with version 1.1.
Actually, while I too dislike the sounds, and agree with their removal in a game-setting, I had sort of assumed the noise was indeed designed specifically to warn others away from guaranteed harm; friend or foe, because 'here there be robotic kill machines', rather than considering that turrets set by settlers were designed as traps for the killing of raiders and other unwanted ne'er-do-wells. Just saying... :)
