I went through old documentation to see how to improve my performance, and I ran into the Nvidia Graphics Performance & Tweaks guide. I found near the bottom mention of screen space reflection tweaks. Knowing Bethesda, I set up a command to set all values associated with said reflections to 0 and found it really helped performance in general and especially in really reflective areas like the institute at negligible (personally) visual impact. Your mileage may vary if you're not a half blind bat who struggles to read road signs while driving. Use an autorun utility or set up prefs/fallout4custom ini to enter these commands:
