Delay the starting of the DLC until you're good and ready.
Use either a Holotape (silently given upon opening your pip-boy for the first time, or craftable at a Chemistry workbench) or MCM.
~~~Requirements~~~
Required:
* Automatron
* Far Harbor
* Vault 88
* Nuka World
Optional:
* MCM
~~~Changes~~~
* Holotape has an option to place a terminal inside the Nucleus Command Center: Memory Storage - Tape Upload
* Saves you from going through that 3d VR Memory Platforming Puzzle
* Holotape has an option for Automatron: to shift the audio holotapes (required for bypassing the boss fight) next to the elevator near the entrance of the Mechanist's Lair
* Saves you from going through the whole lair - getting the audio holotapes - and backtracking to the entrance again
* Updated for NextGen (not the new DLC that was added with NextGen - yet)
* Recompiled scripts and repacked into new ba2 archive
* Forwarded some UFO4P changes into the mod
* Tweaked another script that would start Far Harbor
~~~Incompatibilities~~~
Any mod which modifies the following Quests and their associated Script (a mod which does that is already delaying the DLC or is the UFO4P - see the F.A.Q.):
DLC01MQ00 - Automatron
DLC03MQ00 - Far Harbor
DLC03MQ01ChangeLocationHandler - Far Harbor
DLC04MQ00 - Nuka World
DLC06MQ01 - Vault-Tec
~~~F.A.Q.~~~
Q: Your mod broke my game! Rawr!
A: Uninstall and revert to an earlier save.
Q: What if I show up in the area involved without starting via the holotape/MCM?
A: The DLC will:
* Automatron - it won't start at all
* Far Harbor - talk to Kenshi to start it
* Nuka World - talk to Harvey in the Nuka-World Transit Station to start it
* Vault 88 - go to Quincy Quarry to start it
Q: What about the UFO4P?
A: I checked and have already included the UFO4P script changes for:
* DLC01MQ00Script - Automatron
No other scripts in this mod have currently been altered by the UFO4P - I won't bother to check future releases, it's extremely unlikely.
Q: What if the DLC has already started in my game?
A: Then it's already started in your game.
Q: How do I use this?
A: See the pictures for Holotape and MCM use.
Q: I didn't get the holotape? And it's not makeable in the Chemistry workbench?
A: Then you didn't install the mod properly. Install the mod properly.
Q: But I did install the mod properly!
A: See "Your mod broke my game! Rawr!"
Q: Hey can I get this for PS?
A: Sony won't allow it because it uses scripts.
Q: No bugreports?
A: If it's broken I'll notice it eventually. Though you can see the tests with a Level 104 character for all four DLC in the pictures. (Done with a full Institute playthrough.)
Q: Where do I load this?
A: Anywhere - it's an ESL-tagged ESP.
Q: What's the outfit your character is wearing?
A: This mod of mine: Whisper's Institute Jumpsuit
Q: Console?
A: Here:
