ABOUT
An unofficial update to DeadPool2099's Service Rifle mod that contains a number of adjustments, bug fixes, tweaks, additions, and more.

FEATURES
There is a lot changed in this mod, so please read carefully. I rebalanced and reworked nearly every aspect of the original weapons- crafting recipes, perk requirements, weapon properties, and so much more. There are too many individual changes to list, so I will summarize the most notable changes below.

  • Increased base damage of all service rifles, marksman rifles, and uniques from 26 to 32. Additionally, the Survivalist's lower receiver was buffed to do more damage.
  • Streamlined and greatly simplified the upper receiver attachments:
    • Upper receivers now only offer a standard and side-charge option. Side-charge upper receivers now reduce Action Point cost.
    • Upper receivers cannot be swapped between service and marksman rifles. (I understand that this isn't ideal, but there were a handful of issues I ran into when working on this that led me to create a distinct separation between the two.)
  • Streamlined and greatly simplified the lower receiver attachments:
    • Lower receivers are now exclusively used to change ammo types between .223 caliber, 5mm, 5.56mm, 9mm, 7.62mm, as well as the Survivalist, Accelerator, and Atom's Glory unique lower receivers.
    • 9mm and Survivalist lower receivers now use Munitions ammo types.
  • Removed the Marksman Rifle Attachments Magazine, Service Rifle Stickers Magazine, and Service Rifle Handling books/perks. These are no longer required to craft marksman rifle attachments or stickers.
  • Completely reworked how service rifles and marksman rifles appear in the world so that they have their own distinct personality. You'll now see 3 different "types" of service/marksman rifles:
    • Service rifles now only appear with service rifle themed attachments- wood/polymer barrels and grips, etc.
    • Marksman rifles now only appear with marksman rifle themed attachments- combat/marksman barrels and grips, etc.
    • Makeshift service rifles are a new "type" that can be found on Raiders. These will have makeshift attachments as well as a greater variety of lower receivers (such as 9mm or 7.62mm).
    • Note that attachments can still be added/removed from service and marksman rifles (except for upper receivers, as mentioned above).
  • Makeshift service rifles will start appearing on Raiders, Raider bosses, Nuka World gangs, and at vendors starting at level 18.
  • Marksman rifles will start appearing on Gunners, vendors, and as legendary drops starting at level 24.
  • Service rifles will start appearing on Gunners, Railroad agents, Minutemen, bosses, vendors, and as legendary drops starting at level 24.
  • Unique service rifles can now spawn with a greater variety of attachments.
  • Added new firing sounds (regular, suppressed, and automatic) from snt2045's Power SREP mod.
  • Added a black and steel weapon paint/finish that can be crafted for any service/marksman rifle.
  • All weapon paints/skins now use the vanilla weapon material attachment point and can be added/removed from all service rifles, including unique variants.
  • Marksman rifles now use the vanilla scope/sights attachment point.
  • Reworked (and fixed) the custom naming (INNR) rules for the weapon- weapons with makeshift parts will have the Makeshift prefix while service/marksman rifles with short barrels will be named Service Carbine and Marksman Carbine, respectively.
  • Removed the service rifle bayonet weapon entirely.
  • Removed the custom "Beowulf" effects on the Survivalist and Accelerator unique variants.
  • Fixed an issue from the original mod where 9mm and 7.62mm service rifles would spawn with magazine attachment upgrades even though they could not use them.
  • Fixed an issue where scoped service and marksman rifles did not sway. Shoutout to Delta4873 for identifying the solution because I never would have figured this out on my own!
  • Adjusted numerous names and descriptions to match the vanilla game's naming conventions.
  • Included an optional compatibility patch for Clemdiddly's Service Rifle West-Tek Optics Patch.

Due to the leveled list injection changes made by this mod, a new save is recommended so that the weapon isn't added twice into your game.

REQUIREMENTS
If using the optional West-Tek Optics compatibility patch, these are also required:

INSTALLATION
Install using a mod manager such as MO2 or Vortex. Make sure to load this mod after all required mods. For example:

COMPATIBILITY & KNOWN ISSUES
None that I am aware of at the moment.

Patching will be required to work with any other mod that also modifies the Service Rifle mod.

You can reach out via the Posts tab if you encounter any bugs or issues. Please make sure to provide your load order and a list of steps to replicate the issue, however.

Please note that I only support the latest versions of my mods. I always recommend using the latest version of my mods for the best experience.
