Changes all camera shots in dialogue camera mode where focus is normally on the player character to instead focus on the NPC target only.

Now features an optional plugin for muting the player character voice. Consider using this if you want the player dialogue muted but not completely removed nor very short in duration. I have also lifted this optional plugin for muting the player into its own mod titled Mute Player Voice for anyone who wants to use this as a standalone from the SCDC features. If this is not your preferred way of having no player character voice dialogue I recommend the following:

Silent Protagonist - Your Voice is Your Own by CoffeeAddictUK
Along with Silent Protagonist Patch Compilation by Luniartic for any mods that needs patching.

This mod provides a more subjective view of conversations when in dialogue mode, rather than an objective one, in an effort to enforce the feeling that you are the character in the scene and not just looking at it all from an exterior view with no sense of grounding in your player character. This is done by only showing the NPC, only seeing their reactions and facial expressions to what your player character says, while still retaining the cinematic look and feel of the dialogue camera mode.

SCDC still puts you in external camera shots when in dialogue only it no longer focuses on the player character during speech or when you as a player are choosing between dialogue options. See the video(s) below for examples of how the mod works in action.

Further details on how this works can be found in the "Details" section of this mod page.

Recommended to be used together with Full Dialogue Interface and a mod of your choice for removing the voice of the player character. For great immersion!

For examples of this mod in action please see the video(s) below.

Details

This mod intends to shifts the focus away from the player in the new dialogue mode present in Fallout 4 when in conversations. I personally really enjoyed the new cinematic dialogue camera mode but found that it pulled me out from my player character perspective too much and made me feel more of an observer than the character I was role-playing. This is especially frustrating if one uses a mod to disable player character voice acting as it will show the player open and close his voice with nothing to say. Thus the idea was born for this mod.

Instead of an objective view, where you see camera shots of your player character when speaking and choosing dialogue options, you will now instead have a more subjective view of conversations. This is accomplished by changing all camera shots where the focus is on the player character (subject) to instead be on the NPCs (target) in conversation with.

To avoid having mid-ranged shots where the player can be seen (thus seeing the player character move his/her mouth but not saying anything when using a no player character voice mod) when choosing dialogue options/when the player character speaks, all camera shots that were previously at mid-range and focusing on the player (subject) are now instead close-ups focusing on the NPCs (target) you are in dialogue with.

This mod will be remade when the creation kit is released and should be considered to be in beta until such time. There are optional features that I want to add for the user to customize the experience while still keeping the main mod clean and simple, such as solidifying the camera shots and how they are changed. An example of a change I would like to make is to all-together disable changing shots when the player character is speaking. Right now I have not been able to do so, only replace camera shots, which results in a quick change between different camera shots (while still focusing on the NPC) when the player character start/stops speaking.

Optional .esp plugin file is now included for muting player character voice. This optional plugin lowers the volume of the sound category for player voice to 0. Installs as a separate .esp plugin file which you can disable/enable at will. Consider using this if you want the player dialogue muted but not completely removed nor very short in duration.

Incompatibility

No compatibility issues are known of at of this point in time. Mods that alter the same records (dialogue camera shots) are likely incompatible.

In such a case make sure that the .esp plugin file for this mod is loaded after the incompatible mod in the load order if you want this mod to have precedence in changing these records.
