WHAT 

Guard Mats that are visible in workshop mode only. Choose from 1, 2, 3 or 6 defense points, with weapon drawn or without.

The operating principle behind niston's dynamic mats is quite simple, really:
Open workshop => Mats are visible, can be picked up, moved around and assigned.
Close workshop => Mats vanish into thin air, no longer cluttering your settlement.

FEATURES

- V1.0: The arrow conveniently indicates the direction which the guard will face.
- V1.1: Mats have a slight glow to them, for improved visibility in terrain at night.
- V1.2: 4 additional mats with weapon drawn animation. Those work for all mod added weapons that come with 3rd person animations.
- V1.3: Marker mat collision has been adjusted to be completely flat; Guards don't "jump" anymore when entering/leaving workshop.
- V1.4: Child settlers can use both vanilla and weapon drawn animation mats.
- V1.4: Distinct markers for vanilla and weapon drawn mats.
- V1.6: Added Transfer Settlements support.

HOW

- Backup saves
- Install mod and load game
- The mats can be found in the Dynamic Guard Mats category under Defense
- Enjoy!


ADDITIONAL INFO

- Vanilla game supports up to 6 defense points per guard. You can combine guard mats as follows:
   - Assign settler to mat with 6 defense points -> guard stays put.
   - Assign settler to mat with 3 defense points and another mat with 3 defense points -> guard will move between the two mats.
   - Assign settler to 3 mats with 2 defense points each -> guard will travel between the 3 mats.
   - Assign 2/2/1/1 -> guard will travel between 4 mats.
   - Assign 2/1/1/1/1 -> guard will travel between 5 mats.
   - Assign 1/1/1/1/1/1 -> guard will travel between 6 mats.

- When a guard has less than 6 defense points assigned and if there are unassigned guard mats/posts left in the settlement, the game will immediately try to auto assign mats/posts until 6 defense points are reached for the guard. This feature can make assigning guards a minor hassle. You can disable it with the Workshop Framework mod. WSFW also lets you change the maximum number of defense points per guard.

- If the plugin does not load, you need to update your game so it understands the ESLified ESP format.


KNOWN ISSUES

- If mats are placed on workshop-built elevated structures, actors may spawn below the structure on load (game limitation).

UNINSTALL

- Not supported.
- If you insist: Unassign all guards from all dynamic guard mats in all settlements and then remove mod.
