***Nuka World Update*** So the medium filter is done for Nuka World. Just just keep in mind that I had trouble merging the Light and Medium Nuka World filters. So for now you need both the Light and Medium, otherwise you will hear F-bombs and the A** will be edited. As soon as I can figure out why it has errors merging I will upload it.
Also I changed the version to 0.95 even though the main game file hasn't changed. This is so it better reflects how close I am to 1.0.
**Whats next** I have to go back separate all the base game files so they can have different filter variations. Since right now as it stands is just a Medium filter. Also I noticed some swears I missed. Overall just a TLC pass. I will work on the Heavy filter after 1.0
I was looking through random mods and came upon this one and just wanted to give a thumbs up to the author. People mod their games for many different reasons, some look for some good ol' fun, and others simply want an escape from the horrors or difficulties they may have faced/are facing in real life.
Even though, for me, the swearing in the game never really bothered me, I really do believe that people like you, Sevrick, are what makes mods and modding communities so amazing.
For those who don't know, there're people out there who genuinely suffer, as odd as it may seem, simply by hearing certain words or seeing certain imagery. And as pointless as it may sound to remove swear words in a violence ridden video game, I can guarantee that there is someone out there who's absolutely grateful for all the work this author has done, and if anything, I really appreciate the effort they've put, despite what others may say.
Keep up the good fight Sevrick!
As a side note, thanks to this modding post I also learned that MacCready apparently gave up swearing entirely, the more you know I guess lol.
Preach, brother! Now I don't have to deal with that dirty feeling I get from hearing swears while I'm viciously taking the lives of others in a fashion both brutal and grotesque.
Hey man! Thanks for creating a mod like this. I downloaded it and endorsed, but it's disabled for now. I haven't played Fallout 4 yet (or any version of the franchise), so I'd like to see what it's like with regular dialogue. I'm also a bit of an immersion nerd, too. If the language appears much too often for my tastes, then I'll enable your mod and keep it active in my playthroughs.
It's still awesome that you would think about something like this. Thanks for all of the hard work you had to go through in order to put this together!
Is there any chance you could make a mod like this for The Outer Worlds (assuming it's evening possible)? That seems like a really fun game, but I hate the swearing
Hi I am a new gamer and like to try out your mod but how do I install it. Sorry I am not very clued up with PC's. Please help. I am glad someone decided to create a mod like this. Just to say thank you for the mod.
Thank you so much for this mod. Cracks me up the number of people commenting that don't think you should have bothered. If you don't care for the mod, then it's not for you. Shut up and move along.
personally, I get enough of the language throughout my day. Don't want it or need it when I'm relaxing, so this is a great addition for me. I really appreciate it.
how to install manually? the mod manager installed but i really think it is not working where should i place the files to install manually? do i need to start a new game after the instalation?
edit: i fixed you need to change not just fallout.ini but ALSO FALLOUTPREFS.INI , under [archives] bEnableFileSelection=1
There is an "intermediate" stage to a gamer's life between childhood and adulthood - that is mid-teen to young-adulthood when they will be living in a house with other people who do not want to hear "YOU MOTHERFUARAGHKSPLATCRUNCH" coming from the TV or the corner of the house where the PC is.
Yes, the screen is showing exploding heads and whatnot, but when your mum is in the kitchen making your dinner, she doesn't have to see that. She DOES have to hear "GO FUNK YOURSELF RAT ASS ETC" screamed aggressively by the raider you are blowing the arms off.
Sure, you could put on headphones, but that's a pain (in the RAT'S ASS) if you're playing on a TV or you have sweet speakers for your PC or whatever.
It's not about protecting the innocent gamer from naughty words. It's about consideration for other people in the house.
You're crying about how people want to mod their game on a mod forum? How ironic. I bet you wouldn't be crying about a mod that introduced swearing would you? Because 100% of people should love profanity...
I can imagine you getting involved in some classic noble good vs evil tale "Let me voice a string of f-bombs in background folks, because simulated violence needs some real profanity! Dunno how people managed without it over the centuries! Violence should never be without profanity!"

I plan on having 3 different levels of Vulgarity:
High: Edits everything.
Medium: Edits everything except damn and hell.
Low: Only Edits F-bombs, S*@&, and blasphemes.
Originally I was planing on just having check boxes and you could choose what to edit only in the end it would be a lot of work to do so.
