The Proton Axe

It's an axe! You hit things with it!

Give me the details!

There are three axe variants in this mod - the original single bladed, two handed Proton Axe, the lightweight, one handed, single bladed Electron Axe, and the heavy hitting, two bladed, two handed Neutron Axe. Each comes with a different colored blade by default - orange for the Proton Axe, Blue for the Neutron Axe, and Green for the Electron Axe, but they can all be changed at the weapons workbench to one of ten colors. Blue, Cyan, Green, Orange, Pink, Purple, Red, White, Yellow... or Rainbow! These mods only require a handful of crystal to change the frequency the plasma is refracted at... or something. Technobabble not included.

There's also a handful of weapons mods. Two upgrades to boost the damage and two enhancements to alter the damage - an energy damage buff and an armor piercing mod. These upgrades will require some Science! knowledge.

All versions of the axe deal Extra Damage to Robots, Turrets, Synths, and Power Armor Users.

While none of the axes present in this mod are legendary, they DO have a legendary attachment point for use with your favourite craftable legendaries mod.

The mod is a light ESP/flagged as an ESL, and as such, will not take up a spot in your load order.

Where can I find one?

None of these weapons are added to levelled lists or vendors - they're intended to be moderately unique. (That, and I can't really see raiders or gunners toting these around. Maybe the BoS... or Rust Devils?) No one on the east coast seems to be manufacturing them. Perhaps they were sold to merchants and made their way over through trade? Or maybe there's something to the rumors about Poseidon Energy's work on weaponry... Regardless of how, there's a single example of each to be found around the commonwealth.

Who Did This?

Original Mesh and most Texture work done by scrangle3d - check out the original model on ArtStation!
