OVERVIEW
This mod adds in the Proton Axe, from Fallout: New Vegas's Old World Blues DLC. All assets are made 100% from scratch.
As of update 1.0.1, there are now three "tiers" of the proton axe, which can be changed by upgrading it in the weapons workbench.
- Standard: +50% damage to robots, blue blade color.
- Proton Electrocutioner: does 75% extra damage to robots, power armor users, synths, and turrets. Also increases the base damage by 25%. blue blade color.
- Proton Inversal: adds armor penetration, 50% extra base damage, then 100% extra damage (double damage) to robots, power armor users, synths, and turrets, and changes the blade to a purple color.
AFTER UPDATING, BE SURE TO DROP AND PICK BACK UP THE AXE!
KNOWN BUGS
- Blade is invisible when inspecting the weapon in the pip-boy.
- Description doesn't change when upgrading the weapon.
- Standard upgrade might now show up as being applied to the weapon after updating. Don't worry, it is, it's just invisible.
The Proton Axe can be found at the Federal supply cache 84NE, behind the master locked door. See images tab for visuals.

Huge thanks to TurmoilPriest2003 for adding in the upgrades and implementing the inversal variant of the axe, as well as some other small tweaks.
This mod is a bit different then my usual style, as it adds new custom assets and such. Right now the mod is unfinished. If someone would like to finish it, included in the files is a .BGEM file to change the blade color to a purple/blue-ish color, for a Proton Inversal Axe Variant. All you'd need to do is set up a material swap in the creation kit, and probably some object mods and such. If you want to add to this mod, just send me a message and we could potentially work together to finish it. I'm not going to be able to finish it myself, because I'm incredibly busy in my real, day-to-day life. I worked to get this mod into a somewhat release-able condition so I can at least give you all something to play with. Hopefully I'll be releasing more mods eventually, although I'm not at all pleased with the direction that nexusmods is going down, and I'm not sure that I'll continue to use this site too much longer. Who knows. Anyway, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to leave a comment, or send me a message.
