Locky Bastard is still up and running. This is a totally new mod.

Version 1.2 fixes the name on the Pulaski axes.

Version 1.1 fixes a bug that let you unlock anything without perks.

I wanted to make a mod dedicated to Firefighters, because they are, let's face it, super cool.

(This is just a decoration item that adds a little happiness to your settlement)

One thing firefighters do is bust into places that are on fire, often through walls and locked doors. This is a very roundabout way of getting to the point of this mod: breaking locks.  I loathe the lockpicking minigame, and I've already released a cheat mod to avoid it. However, I wanted something non-cheating and lore-friendly.

So, I combined it with my Firefighter idea, and voila!

EQUIP A FIREAXE AND YOU CAN HACK THE LOCK OFF ANY DOOR (IF YOU ARE STRONG ENOUGH). KEEP A HALLIGAN IN YOUR INVENTORY TO BUST OPEN THOSE PESKY CHESTS AND SAFES (AGAIN, IF YOU'RE STRONG ENOUGH).

"Strong enough" is not based on Lock Level, it's based on 'realism.'  That is to say, you have to be stronger to open Security Gates and Safes than to open Wooden Doors and Coolers.

Now you get a Firefighting history lesson!

This is a Halligan.

It's a fancy prybar, that, when paired with a fireaxe, is referred to as "The Irons." These are THE essential forcible entry tools for any first responder. The Halligan was invented and named for FDNY First Deputy Chief Hugh Halligan in 1948. Halligan was such a man of honor, he initially did not sell the tool to the FDNY, as this would mean he profited from public funds as a public servant, a clear conflict of interest. This did not stop many of his comrades from purchasing the tool with their own money, and he sold several to the Boston Fire Department.

The Halligan has 3 tools: an Adze, a Fork, and a Pick.  I'll just quote Wikipedia for what that all does:

As I said, the Halligan is paired with a Fireaxe, and my mod has four different varieties.

The Halligan and Fireaxes can be crafted in the Chem Station under their own Category and require the Blacksmithing perk.

Standard: Has a flat back that can be used as a sledgehammer. Most commonly paired with the Halligan.

Double: Can be swung either way. Probably the most effective weapon.

Billhook: Used for making initial holes in things, especially for ventilation.

Pulaski: A Forest Fire fighting tool, the back is an Adze, which is used for digging dirt. Can be crafted Axe or Adze facing, but does the same damage.
