A Rogue Zetan mothership has settled in over Diamond City!
Turns out the Zetan planet Omicron Persei 7 are HUGE Boston Red Sox fans, and are EXACTLY 210 light years away from Earth. So when the games stopped coming in, they hopped in their mothership and zipped on over to see what was up!
Turns out their favorite baseball team was annihilated in nuclear fire, so they need some entertainment.
That's where YOU come in, my unfortunate Sole Survivor. Timing is everything, they say, and your sordid tale of heartbreak and reunification is the perfect Saturday afternoon marathon for a bunch of deranged, thrill-seeking aliens. But in this game, you aren't on a team.
YOU are the BALL.
The Zetans have meticulously removed the vast majority of weapons, food, chems, ammo, and components from the city. The person or group who wins the challenge gets access to the lot. The challenge? Kill the Sole Survivor. Think the Brotherhood might come rolling in on a shiny blimp and save you (or take you out)? Nope, they get their weapons taken away as soon as they arrive (but not the armor).
As you begin your journey, most people (the ones who want the guns and drugs) are just angry and have naught but their fists to attack you. As you progress through the main storyline, the arsenal of weapons allayed against you begins to get... interesting.
I've incorporated my old mod Improvised Melee into this mod. You do NOT have to download Imp Melee. Sticks and Stones has all the assets needed and is actually a merged plugin. Also, just to mess with you, the Zetans have rearranged all the Bobbleheads. (a la my Random Valuables mod).
This is not as easy as it sounds. I played for several hours on normal difficulty and I died. A LOT. Enemies are uncanny in their ability to block melee strikes in this game, they gang up and stagger-lock you, and you run out of bullets FAST.
Despite everything this mod does, it's actually pretty lightweight. You can use it as an ESL. It is probably going to be incompatible with just about anything that totally overhauls gameplay like this (FROST, Horizon, etc). Weapon mods kind of defeat the purpose of the mod, but armor mods should be fine all around. Anything else is trial and error (which is why this is a 0.1 Beta, not a 1.0 release). I'll keep playing the mod, but the more people reporting bugs to me, the faster I can lose all my hair!

OK, some clarity...
Here's what this mod DOES:
Removes most guns, grenades, food, chems, and ammo from the game. Most enemies will attack you with fists to start. Then my leveled lists start to kick in.
The player is not restricted in what they can use. You can use anything you can find, but most of it's gone. There is a tiny chance that enemies spawn with guns.
What it DOES NOT DO:
Fight the aliens at all.
Do anything outside the main game.
