    Good day,

i tried to build this settlment, and in the end, it failed.  i set the over all settlement size based on comments to 800% but when the settlement built, only 2 ag plots, the supply line plot and 3 beds built.... there were no other plots present in the build.....all the wall its appears come in ect, but that is pretty much it....

It's a multi-level plan, you don't have everything from the start, it's going to build up little by little according to the resources and the number of settlers

that is incorrect. i have never downloaded any settlement ect that did not already have the home plots, ect in place.  Letterly only 3 plots came down.  your right that the plots level up over time i agree. but the base level 1 plots did not come along with this build. i also had the settlement build size up to 800%.

Gonna necro this with a response. There indeed are some of the city plans that do not place all of the asam plots down at the start of the build. There are many that, at times frustratingly, grow very slowly, with little to no indication as to what is needed to advance from L0 to L1, L1 to L2, L2 to L3. I say frustratingly  because there are times that you end up with more settlers than plots, which tanks settlement happiness out of the gate. I get what the plan authors are trying to do, but sometimes it is very frustrating when the number of plots that are placed are tied to how they set up each build level. Another thing that can be frustrating is the use of non plots for parts of the build, what I call a hybrid build, as you sometimes have difficulty knowing whether or not a plan has enough recreation, sanitation/hospital or other type plots until the build is finished and then you can go around and tweak plots and drop things in in spaces that are left open. The final results of these "hybrid" type builds can be amazing, and Nicogaud has done several. It just requires a bit (or a lot) of patience.

    @nicogaud
In game it is telling me I am missing a required mod: "Workshop Rearranged".... This mod is not listed under your requirements on the front page AND looking at that mods page it has a crap tonne of bug reports on it. Not to mention I am capped out on my load order. Is it a hard requirement to use your city plan, or is it just a mod that changes my workshop menu around...Vortex did not flag it when installing the mod.. In other words can I get away with doing the city plan without having this "hidden" requirement? Thanks in advance...

Normally it should work but you need to think about increasing the budget for the workshop :

      • expanding the settlement's budget :workshop-->manage-->configure build limits

I have started cranking the settlement budget at the workbenches of all my settlements to way beyond what I expect I will need. I did go ahead and start the plan, and noticed that the framework for the layout built itself up quite nicely but there are only a handful of plots placed. I started with 3 settlers, came back in a couple days and had 7, but it had only placed down 5 residential plot asams, leaving 2 settlers without beds. I did go ahead and change a couple to multi bed plots from the ones it had already built up to fix it, but sometimes I cannot tell if the various city plans are building the plots that are intended, or if they are building ones at random (within each specific plot type. i.e. within Residential not between each major plot type.) and I worry that changing them to ones I prefer, or need,  will mess up something within the build. Either way I cannot wait to see this one built up, as I love the Sanctuary one. I am hoping that there are few spots within the settlement where I can customize or add in some of the new plots that are released, or as in the case of the older RotC plans, add in some additional recreation and sanitation plots as they are sorely needed in some of those builds. Thank you for the quick response. I will let you know if there are any issues that I run into. I had kind of wondered if that "hidden requirement" might have been what is causing the issues that others have reported.

    Fantastic build, friend!

If I might ask, what was your build limit looking like at the end? I had real problems with mine; I near maxed out with very little built, yet yours completed looks about ten times greater.

Perhaps you should try "respect limit" in the performance option in the city manager holotape.

      Respect Build Limit (High Impact)
When this is enabled, City Building and Plot item construction can be interrupted if it would push over the build limit. This will default to OFF unless the performance wizard is run and you choose Low/Medium/Xbox One/Xbox One S.
      Available Settings:
      Options: ON or OFF
      Default: OFF
      What These Settings Mean:
ON: Sim Settlements will continue to build things even if the settlement is past the build limit (vanilla or modified).
OFF: Sim Settlements will prevent itself from going over the settlement build limit (vanilla or modified).

Yeah I did that. I should clarify, it wasn't plots that pushed up my build limit it was just vanilla build items.

What was your tri/draw count by the end?

Sorry, the tri/draw is what determines your build limit (triangles and draw calls) - somewhere between the two figures is the actual limit, it's not accurate but it gives a ballpark figure.

Go to the workshop, open the console (~) and enter:
'getav 348' for the current triangle count
'getav 349' for the maximum triangle count for the settlement
'getav 34a' for the current draw call count
'getav 34b' for the maximum draw budget for the settlement

Don't have to do it if you don't want, it's more for clarity on my end. I also wouldn't stress if you have gone over; it's not been an absolute disqualifier in the past, plus the figures don't give the accurate build limit just a ballpark figure (to my understanding, at least).

I' m sorry I'm just finding out about this build limit, no one ever alerted me about it.
You'll find the numbers in the screenshot, it 'll be great if you can explain me about it.

Hey I don't wanna cause any stress because this might not be that big of an issue, but at the same time it might be?

The following is my tri/draw count when first arriving at Jamaica Plain for the build competition, after the City Plan contest mod automatically increased the build limit. I've underlined the max tri/draw limits. The numbers in your previous image are astronomically high by comparison.

How is your frame-rate? That's gonna be the real decider for you.

I don't have a frame rate problem except when I have a lot of large settlements in a game.
I've read many forums since you pointed out this problem. I realize that I never got any size alerts, I didn't even know it existed. I have tried many mods in the past, I think one of them changed the base game.
I now only use basic mods and it persists.
I don't know if it cause trouble for people who use my mods.

I started building in Jamaica Plain doing something similar with buildings. I got the buildings built, nothing else yet, and was already at 200%. I couldn't do anything else.
