initial release
In vanilla Fallout 4 the Metal and Robot limb armors can be modded with a Dense Misc. Mod. The armor mod is lost when removed however. ProMeLiDeaPaMods fixes that and adds a Padded limb mod on top.
On a side note: The reason the metal limbs got the dense attachment in vanilla in the first place is probably a bug. It is a torso mod, that is added to a limb keyword list. All the mods in the list are lacking an inventory mod for detachment and none have an associated recipe aside from the dense mod. The Keyword list (or lists) are called "Universal"-something-something, while the proper bug free lists are all called "...Metal....". But I quite liked the idea to have the metal armors be able to protect against explosions, so I decided to clean it up a bit.
