About this mod
Unofficial patch to fix the suppressor on the amazing DKS 501 classic sniper mod, as well as the framework for a few different sounds (50 receiver, 50 supressed, and 4 alternate suppressor sounds)
IMPORTANT NOTE: I do not wish to share other peoples sound files, so you will have to chose your own files and rename them!

The Main file adds new keywords to the suppressor, and the 50. receiver, which allows for sounds to be allocated to each, meaning the suppressed shot sounds suppressed, opposed to the suppressor only effecting NPC detection and playing the standard shot sound. in order for this mod to work you will need both the original mod main file "DKS-501 Sniper Rifle" v1.5, as well as the "DKS-501 Sniper Rifle - Custom Sounds" optional file. my mod is dependant on those and as such will need to be loaded after.
NOTE - this mod doesn't include the sounds themselves as I don't feel comfortable sharing other peoples sound files. detailed instructions (relatively simple and self explanatory, if you have any questions after reading through then let me know) to set up the sounds in the right place, and named correctly are bellow. i have also added a picture in the "images" tab on nexus to help clarification.
in total you will need to choose 6 .WAV files (can be found online, or copied from other mods. personally I have used files from various gunfire sound mods)
With all of these files I would recommend copying and then renaming to avoid accidentally removing files from other mods.
first you will need to choose a file for a .50 shot sound, name this "fire_50.wav"
then choose a sound for the suppressed .50 receiver, name this "fire_50_suppressed.wav"
finally choose 4 files (Similar sounding or multiples of the same sound) name these; "fire_suppressed01.wav", "fire_suppressed02.wav", "fire_suppressed03.wav" and "fire_suppressed04.wav"
once you have chosen and named your sound files, you will need to place them in the correct place. the file location should be - fallout4 / data / sound / FX / wpn / ClassicSniper
you should see 1 folder (named Reload) and 2 files (fire_38.wav, fire_308.wav) from the original mod. place your chosen sounds here. i have attached a picture to show how it should look after the files are placed.
Well done, you have now added your chosen sounds to the DKS-501!
I dont see why this mod would clash with another, but on the off chance it does then feel free to use my file as you see fit to make a patch. all i ask is you worship me as some kind of god... or just credit me, thats cool too.
LtCommander, if you see this then feel free to add it to the mods main page, or use it as you see fit. im just trying to share what i can to show my appreciation for this community.
