Abernathy Farms, Tenpines Bluff, and Outpost Zimonja look almost like they could have been the vanilla settlements. Red Rocket looks like a place that's been fortified by some competent military force in recent time and seems like there could be a story to tell there.
I will be using a few of these, and I am definitely inspired by the minimalist approach, as I always spend too much time on a settlement I am never happy with and use the 'scrap all' command and just leave. I'm pretty good at building single houses with realistic home decor and clutter, but I suck at settlement layouts.
It's nice to see city plans that don't look like a homeless encampment filled with litterbugs and hoarders, but believably lived in places. That's what drew me to this mod in the first place. No shanty towns. People seem to think that after 200 years no one can figure out some basic carpentry skills.
I mean they are just city plans, so Rise of the Commonwealth would work just fine, they don't have any upgrades though, I wanted them to be as small and simple as possible.
The only things you need outside Sim Settlements is the DLC's and Homemaker.
It only requires Far Harbor for Coastal Cottage and the Wasteland Workshop for Red Rocket, aside from that all you need is Homemaker, I think.
I don't know what you mean by prove your point, but if you don't already have the best and most popular DLC for the game installed, after almost six years after the game came out, then I honestly don't know what to tell you.
I'll try making a version that doesn't require any DLC, but do be warned that it is low on my list of priorities.
