Possible Script Lag If none of the above apply then just be patient and wait in your settlement doing nothing (don't use pipboy or workshop menu) for 10-15 minutes for scripts to finish processing. Staring at ground will also help. Seriously. If you're running on lower end hardware (especially CPU) OR have a lot of script/quest heavy mods such as other big quest mods, some companion mods, major game overhaul mods then you may end up with a lot of script lag. You can either reduce your mod load and start a new save game or just plan on spending more time in your settlements. Don't "bounce dive" and spend less than 5 minutes in a settlement.
Console Commands to skip quest stages NO. Don't do it unless it comes directly from Kinggath or a support team member like myself. In the majority of cases you will break the mod using console commands to skip quests or quest stages because this mod was not designed for that. You can skip ALL the quests with an option in the holotape under Tools > Cheats.
So seeing how I played the mod a lot of times, this run I decided to skip the questline up to How To HQ, it was buggy so I started completing stages manually with the console and now I'm stuck having no access to the Security Department and the Engineering Department, with the quest "How To HQ" complete.
Can anyone help me? Is there a way to be able to access those departments by activating some kind of console command or something? Maybe an option in the holotape I didn't see? Thanks...
Great content! I followed the instructions on the front page of SS2 to the letter and it worked perfectly. I only had to come back here once to check what to do for updates (re-deploy and re-sort). Thanks!
It's safe, but here are a few things to do after downloading the newest version: -Make sure you are replacing the old version with newest one. -if on Vortex, Auto-sort the plugins after downloading. -Stay idle for a few minutes when you loaded in-game for it to process or when approaching sim-settlements, walk to the place for it to load properly.
Hey, sorry if this has been asked before but is it possible to play trough all SS2 Chapters without having the mod auto build for me? I want to build every settlement by myself and detail them. I just really want to experience the story. Thanks in advanced.
Well, using the ASAMs is integral to the story, so you have to use some of them for certain story bits. Not only the example builds, but also the Communications & Caravan plots are important for when the story moves to Gunners Plaza. However, if you mean can you *choose* which plots are built, then yes you can.
As soon as you place a plot, exit build mode, then choose "E) Activate" on the ASAM Sensor. Then select "Choose Building Plot" on the menu that pops up. This pulls a vendor menu so you can "buy" the building you want on that plot. I do this all the time. Especially with the Municipal plots, since I want Caravan & Coms or Power & Water (depending on site) built before anything else.
Thanks for the answer! But no I mean I want to individually place every wall, light, bed etc myself. No plots. I really like settlement building haha. I just really like the idea of the story in this mod and want to experience it.
During a couple of different games, I've encountered the bug where after meeting Stodge & Company and assigning them a settlement to build, they never arrive, One solution I've seen is for the player to go to another site and enter an interior cell, then wait/sleep for 24 hours. Unfortunately for me, that didn't work. However, I found that if you look on the map and hover your mouse over the site you sent them to, it will hopefully show you 7 residents. If so, then you can build a City Planner's desk and use it to make a Vault-Tec Tools holotape. use the tape in your Pipboy (MISC tab) and choose the Summon Settlers Menu. Then choose either "Missing Pipboy" or "Missing Vault Suit" and then exit out of your pipboy. Voila! Stodge & Company appear and trigger the cutscene! Huzzah! No console/cheats or other work-arounds needed.
The settlement building is fun and overall gameplay is good when it works, but the ammount of bugged quests that gets stuck dosent progress is staggering
I love the characters and the voice acting, and the story is pretty good. But the buggy quests made me uninstall. A great piece of work - kudos to all involved, and it has my endorsement.
A couple of small tweaks would help this mod considerably -
Any time the player is meant to follow an NPC, use a timer to jump that NPC to the next checkpoint if it hasn't made it there via navigating the terrain. Far too often an NPC just gets stuck. It's far less disruptive to see an NPC teleport than stand in place forever.
Similar to the above, use timers to force dialogs to proceed. Again, it would be less "un-immersive" for the NPC to interrupt the player (if the timer expires before the player finishes talking), than to stand silent forever.
I played the first 2 chapters a half dozen times, and was able to proceed using the occasional console command. But chapter 3... yikes
I give up with this mod. I have tried over and over again to get it working to no avail. I've reinstalled it twice, on a fresh install of FO4 and same issue. The building Plots just don't appear in my Workshop Settlement menu, i've checked every category, i've used the City Planner Holotape to cheat in all Plots, nope don't appear. I've put down the recruitment beacon, spoken to Jake, got the quest to place a 2x2 plot. But just can't.
After seeing content on YouTube I really wanted to play this mod, but I've wasted countless hours trying to get it working.
Took me 2 weeks of messing around different settings, but I actually got it working with VR very smoothly. Using the 3.3.0 version, not 3.3.0a atm. I was so fed up with Jake not spawning after building the beacon at the beginning. I'm glad I am done messing with this and can actually play it.
UUWWG I had this all typed out and I missed clicked. Not going to type it all again. But check with the SS2 wiki there is a link to it on the mod page in the description. I use Vortex to handle the mod loading and load order. Do not forget to have the latest version of FO4SE. But as you go through the Jake quest line more of the plots will unlock at which point they will show in the workshop. One thing I did notice when I started playing again (fresh start) you have to do the Preston thing thing first and get the group to Sanctuary. Then you can start the Jake quests. (I think this is so you do not break the main vanilla quest line). The Sturges quest will be accomplished as you do the Jake quests.
Also Do not know if you are using the xbox or PC version. ( I do not have and will never have a xbox). I also have to go to the workshop and increase the settlement build limit to 800% Otherwise some of the plans just do not load completely or update. I do not know what you have tried or what kind of experience you have with mods or modding. But there are several people that will help you get it working. Just go to the SS2 forums and ask for help. Oh and I have found out DO NOT mix the mods from Bethesda and those from nexus. A lot of times they just do not mesh together very well. Only use one source (I prefer nexus more mods and a lot easier to find mods). But I know how you feel I have been there myself. If you want you can contact me I will take the time to help you.

Could this be related to this plugin?

(one of them, anyway)
