About this mod

Useful, easy to access, and completely optional features that enhance your gameplay.

Requirements
Permissions and credits
Changelogs
Favorite the Action aid item for easy access to the menu. Don't want to use the Action aid item? Set a hotkey using the MCM menu.

Secondary Weapon Auto-Equip

Tired of running out of grenades during combat and then having to open your pipboy to grab a molotov?

Set your preferred secondary weapon. Grenade, molotov, or mine. When you run out of your currently equipped secondary weapon the next preferred secondary in your inventory will be equipped automatically. The fallback order of selection is grenade, molotov, then mine if you don't have anymore of your preferred type.

Weapon Dropping

In addition to adding convenience, this mod will also be adding consequences. With dropping your weapon as a possible consequence, you will be encouraged to take getting hit more seriously. After dropping your weapon, you might have to rethink your plan of engaging the enemy or be forced to flee the situation.

With this feature enabled there will be a calculated chance that taking a hit will cause you to drop your drawn weapon, so take cover.

Warning:

You might not be able to recover your weapon depending on where you drop it. For example, it might be difficult to find it in tall grass. At least you made it out alive!

The constant gratification of always leaving a situation with a victory, or with more than you had before, is something I want to challenge with consequences. Sometimes things that just plain suck happen and there is nothing you can do about it except pick yourself up and continue on.

Notes:

  • Bash attacks and power attacks are more likely to cause you to drop your weapon.
  • You are more likely to drop weapons that are heavier.
  • Lower strength and endurance can increase the chance of dropping your weapon.
  • Having the Survival Mode "Weakness" effect will increase the chance.
  • Low health will increase the chance of dropping your weapon, therefore, high levels of radiation increase the chance.

Economy

I will be adding ways to make the economy more challenging and unpredictable.

Buy and Sell Price Fluctuations: Buy and sell prices will be adjusted by varied amounts every 1 to 3 days at 6am. The adjustments will always be in the favor of the seller. The day range this adjustment can happen can be controlled with settings.

Service Cost Fluctuations: The cost of renting a room, doctoring, getting a haircut, facial surgery, and buying a house will be adjusted separately every 3 to 5 days at 6am. The costs can be down to -15% or up 150% and the day range can be controlled with settings.

Notes:

  • Disabling price or service cost fluctuations will schedule a normalization that will happen at the next 6am. This is to discourage cheating if you're not satisfied with a price.
  • A typical day range of min 1 and max 3 will mean another fluctuation will occur randomly either 1, 2, or 3 days later.
  • Setting the max day for the range to a value at or below the min will cause the fluctuation to always occur after X min days. e.g. 2 min and 1 max = fluctuation will always occur every 2 days.

Power Armor Management

Enable the Power Armor Management setting under the Misc section to make the Manage action available at empty suits of power armor. A new menu of actions that can be applied will be shown. Currently only one new action is available.

Teardown: Allows you to scrap a power armor frame for components. The scrap yield is determined by the level of the Scrapper perk you have. I created this feature because Power Armor frames get left all over the place from NPCs Travel and I wanted an immersive way to get rid of them.

Notes:

  • There may be suits, like the one in Concord at the beginning of the game, that you shouldn't scrap at a given time or ever. Use your best judgement when using this feature.
  • You can't teardown a suit of power armor while in combat.

Backpack Quick Equip

Set your current backpack using MCM, or the holotape, and you will be able to quickly equip and remove it using the Action menu. You can also have it auto-equip when you become over-encumbered.

Automatically Lowered Weapons Toggle

If you have Automatically Lowered Weapons installed there will be a Quick action available to turn auto-lower on or off. This is very useful when using a weapon with a flashlight attachment and you want to keep the light pointed forward.

Teammates Use Stimpacks or Robot Repair Kits

If your companion is fallen and they already have a stimpack, or robot repair kit if they are a robot, in their inventory they will use it.

Notes:

  • Followers heal automatically when not playing in Hardcore (Survival) mode and don't need aid items.
  • Most followers that only follow the player temporarily, e.g. for a quest, auto-heal without the need for aid items whether you are in Survival mode or not.
  • Some mods like Survival Options allow you to toggle companion auto healing. Be mindful of the game mode you are playing in and whether you have altered the vanilla behavior with another mod if you find that the follower healing features in this mod aren't working.
  • Some mods add a similar feature. If you like the implementation from another mod better you can disable it for Action Pack.

Throw Your Teammate an Item

This feature came to mind when my companion was down and I couldn't get a stimpack to him without risking getting shot. I thought to myself: "Why can't I just throw the stimpack to him and he can use it on himself?" With this feature you can do just that.

Throw a stimpack to your fallen non-robotic companion or a robot repair kit to your fallen robot companion. If you throw a stimpack to a robot they will just pick it up and not use it. Same thing when you throw a robot repair kit to non-robots. If the receiver of the thrown item is not fallen they will just pick it up.

After throwing the item, whatever secondary weapon, e.g. a grenade, you had equipped before will be reequipped.

Other Features

  • Quickly unequip your primary weapon with the Disarm Quick action.
  • Easily manage your appearance by selecting the "Manage Appearance" option from the Action menu.
  • Gain a +1 strength boost for 10 real-time minutes by doing push ups.
  • Ever wanted to change your clothing without having to unequip what you already have on one item at a time? Use the Undress Quick action. Customize which slots items are removed from using MCM or the holotape.
  • Have a bunch of junk you don't want to store and want to get rid of? Enable the Discard feature under Misc, place the items in a trash can, and Discard.
  • Trying to enjoy a walk, but walking slow is awkward with the controller? Adjust your walk speed to be slower than normal with the Walk menu. 3 tiers of slower and 3 tiers of faster are available.
