[FOREWORD]
This is my first mod that I've ever made public. I do not typically make my own mods, but I hadn't found this out in the wild and decided to release it.
[DESCRIPTION]
The introduction video for Fallout 4 that follows along Nate's narration of the events leading up to the game is arguably one of the best introduction videos in video game history. I remember getting chills the first time I saw the video, and I emphatically made several friends and family members watch the introduction as well to share in my elation.
However, if you're like me and you're constantly tweaking mods, adding new things, removing things, and having to start a new character every time you want to test functionality, it can become tedious to sit through the videos that play when you first open the game and then again when you create a new character.
This mod converts all of the introduction videos for the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stats as well as the vault door "Please Wait" screen, and the introduction video that explains the events leading up to the game, into 1 second long black screen animations. This means that you will - at most - get 3 seconds of video related delay between starting the game and loading the character creation scene.
>! IMPORTANT !<
There will always be - at minimum - a 2 second delay (by design of having 1 second clips) between the time that the game recognizes it is open and begins to play the opening videos and the time that the main menu animation begins to play. To eliminate that delay, paste the following config into your Documents/My Games/Fallout4/Fallout4.ini file
The above snippet will disable the introduction sequences outright and remove any artificial delay between the game opening and jumping to the main menu. There will still be a 1 second delay at the time of character creation, once the game finishes loading and would normally play the main flashback/introduction sequence.
