Ho Ho Ho it's November everybody. You know what that means... It's time for an update to the Ultimate Nuclear Winter Modlist. No more ENBs. No more sloppy edits. More automation. Now with step by step installation instructions. An amazing base for getting those chilly Boston nights.

Intro
Have you ever felt that Boston is too much of a tropical paradise, no? Oh... well I guess you should just move on. But if you're like me, and wanted a little post nuclear chill than step right up and install these mods!
Think of me not as a mod designer but as an art director of your personal Nuclear Winter Experience.
This is not my entire personal load order just the stuff that makes Boston under a nuclear winter just right.

You might want to run FO4Edit just to check for any conflicts and ESPs that can be turned into ESLs. Rule of thumb: don't esl any ESPs that have cell data, and always esl ESPs that are empty and pull from archives (BSAs).
For my in game inventory sorting mod of choice is Ruddy88's Simple Sorter which automatically generates a patch for your load order. Follow the installation instructions on the mod page closely. Choose use sorting mod's components tags and no sorting mod options when installing DEF_UI.

There are some FOMODS in here so you need a mod manager unless you want to waste several hours skimming through files.
Nexus is fine I guess, but MO2 is going to save your bacon if there is some kind of load order or mod conflict issue. Install all the mods on this list via Mod manager unless stated otherwise.

Unofficial Fallout 4 Patch Fixes the garbage. Simple as that.
Buffout 4 Honestly I don't know what it does, but I'm too scared not to use it.
Achievements Why else would you play video games? Included in Buffout 4
Baka's Scrap Heap - Memory Limit Expander Falmer Blood Elixir said to cure all ailments.
Rusty Face Fix For when you don't want to commit a hate crime.
Load Accelerator Debatable weather this does anything so use wisely.
Crafting Framework - Ammo . Armor . Junk . Legendary . Weapon Hands down the best alternative to AWKCR without the need for a billion patches.
Armor and Clothing Overhaul (ACO) Armor overhaul that also lets you put armor on cloths.
Configurable Hotkeys Quick saves break the game. Use this instead.
High FPS Physics Fix Fixes all the engine display issues including the Boston FPS fix
Sprint Stuttering Fix Just a quality of life fix.
Weapon Debris Crash Fix Improve stability during firefights.

Winter Commonwealth Pines To quote Up Is Not Jump, "Cells? What cells!?!"
Polluted Climate - Winter Edition Snow Only great look without an ENB, so more performance friendly. Always snowing.
Frozen Lakes and rivers Icy lakes and rivers ya dummy.
Brighter Wasteland Workshop Lights It gets dark in the winter; light your shack up.
Optional
These mods are going to put an even greater strain on your machine. If you think it can take it go for it!
Insignificant Object remover This won't cause strain so much as Aleve it.
Clean Water This will make your water look better and if like me you think 200 years should be plenty of time for the radiation to dissipate from Boston's water then use the no radiation option, or Wasteland Water Revival If you don't want the radiation free water this is an updated version without the option for fresh water.
Vapor Trails and Tracers Pew pew.
Glowing animals emit light Spookier.
Enhanced Blood textures or True Blood This ones entirely up to you.
Pip-Boy Flashlights Meh emergin
Wetness Shader Fix Not going to hit your performance just a fix.
Mods for making your character look their best
Looksmenu Better version of the in game character editor.
Eyes of Beauty I want to look pretty damn it!
Extended Facial Sculpting For the broadest chins.

2287 - Nuclear Winter Not my thing but if you want that extra bit of immersive survival gameplay go for it. I won't stop you.
XP Leveling Linearised-ish A balanced overhaul to Fallout 4's leveling system with multiple options. All the math's already been done just pop it in and go.
Classic Speech Checks If you're tired of Todd's nutty ideas.
No Radscorpion Tunneling How would they even do that?
Last Man Standing No one could survive out in those Temperatures. (Not recommended for regular playthroughs)
Keep Radiants in the Commonwealth I haven't actually been to Far Harbor or Nuka-world yet so if it's not that snowy in those places.
JD's Weapon Overheating Adds a little extra difficulty. A good stand-in for weapon durability with no compatibility issues. Fully customizable in MCM

I suggest the Modern Weapons replacer mods by cyanide4suicide. The All in One mod is a good way to see most of your options, but you should download each replacer on their individual mod pages as they come with more up to date and have bug fixes. Also some more options using recent weapon mods. I also suggest Weapons Project which adds weapons to the level lists as apposed to replacing them while also rebalancing them to not be overpowered. It's mainly samey rifles, but more weapons are being added every so often.
