Description

Explosion Knockdown changes the behaviors of ballistic explosions so they send their targets flying. Grenades can be used now to interrupt your foe movement, incapacitate them for a while, or just used to see how they helplessly go through the air while you do some target practice on them. As in version 1.3 and above, Explosion Knockdown features support for Canary Save File Monitor.

Features

To prevent silly situations like a cherry bomb throwing a behemoth all across the Commonwealth, I created three tiers of explosion forces:

Small explosions only knocks off normal-sized NPC without power armor. They now provide a excellent tactical distraction against a group of foot soldiers.
  • Frag Grenade/Mine, ...
  • Oxygen Tanks, Small Cars, Turret Explosions, ...
  • Gauss Impact Explosion
  • Power Armor Explosive Vent

Medium explosions can also ragdoll Power-Armored NPCs, but not large enemies (Yao-Guais, Behemoths and such). Now those Brotherhood mooks will never dare to disturb you anymore while you chill out with your buddy Danse!
  • Missile, Broadsider
  • Large Vehicles, Vertibird Crash, ...
  • Behemoth Slam and Stomp

Large explosions knock all NPCs down, including those normally immune to staggering. Use these if you really need to loose that Deathclaw that is chasing you for the last ten minutes.
  • (Mini) Nukes, Nuka Grenades, Quantum Thirst Zapper
  • Artillery and Homing Beacon (which uses the Fat Man Explosion)

Energy explosives like Pulse and Plasma Grenades, but also the Molotov, aren't affected by Explosion Knockdown, since they don't seem to exert an excessive force on the victims (for me, at least).

Optionally, you can enable knockdown for the player via MCM, and change whether wearing Power Armor should make the player immune to knockdowns. This is not recommended though since the camera forces to 3rd person on every knockdown, potentially causing problems like stuck camera (at least on my end). You can also turn off the knockdown effect anytime and adjust the knockdown chances of each tier (they're 100% by default).

As in update 1.5, you can turn off friendly fire against non-hostiles (they will respond to your explosion though and turn hostile) and your companions in the MCM.

Compatibility

Conflicts with mods that edits the same explosion records. Mod added explosions also need patching. The base plugin only covers vanilla explosions. Patches for the following mods are included in the FOMOD:
  • Better Explosion Redux
  • Wasteland Imports
  • Remote Explosives 
  • True Frags
  • RPG-7V2
  • M79 Grenade Launcher standalone
All plugins are marked as ESL. 

To patch custom explosions yourself, fill the object effect field with one of the knockdown enchantments (or add the knockdown magic effect to the existing enchantment) and fill the Placed Object field with one of the temporary xmarkers.
