About this mod
Eat some ANZAC bikkies in the Commonwealth. And replace those god awful sweetrolls while you're at it.

So I am back with more useless mods that literally no one asked for. This time it's biscuits. The iconic ANZAC biscuit in fact. Would this mod have made more sense on ANZAC day perhaps? Maybe, but I don't care. It's ALWAYS the right time for an ANZAC bikkie imo.
If you don't know what the hell I'm talking about right now, ANZAC biscuits are an Australian & New Zealand biscuit that have a long history with our armies (notably World War I in particular). The gist of the story goes that soldier's wives sent these biscuits over as the ingredients in them kept them from spoiling over the lengthy travel distance. When I was in school we were also told something about them being filling and hearty for the boyos in the trenches (you need some nice biscuits when you're in a rather depressing situation I guess). You can do some Googling about the topic yourself if you're interested, but tl;dr THEY ARE VERY YUMMY :)
Great question! It adds one new food item, the ANZAC biscuit, which you can make at any Cooking Station under 'dessert' with 2x corn, 1x razorgrain, and 1x purified water. Perhaps those are too many things to make one biscuit, but this IS a post-nuclear wasteland after all. The resulting food item has no radiation as well, and it heals you for 30 health points. It's equivalent to the vanilla game's Grilled Radroach, but it's worth more and weighs less (and is also less ew, but that's just me).
This mod also retextures the vanilla sweetroll to be less... Like That. I COULD describe here what I think the vanilla sweetroll looks like, but then I would have to mark this mod as adult content, and I don't want to do that. This mod also renames the sweetroll to a Stale ANZAC Biscuit :( Very sad. No one wants a stale biscuit. It still has the same effects as the vanilla game sweetroll, the name and appearance is all that has changed.
The balance update now adds some much needed, well, balance! As suggested by Nexus user BlazeStryker, the recipes at the cooking stations now let you craft MULTIPLE items at a time. There are now four ANZAC related recipes under the dessert tab, as follows:
- 6x ANZAC Biscuits, crafted with: 1 razorgrain, 2 corn, 1 purified water
- 3x ANZAC Biscuits, crafted with: 1 wild razorgrain, 2 wild corn, 1 purified water
- 6x Stale ANZAC Biscuits, crafted with: 1 razorgrain, 2 corn, 1 dirty water
- 10x Irradiated ANZAC Biscuits, crafted with: 1 wild razorgrain, 2 wild corn, 1 dirty water
(note that you won't be able to see the amount crafted, but you WILL recieve multiple food items. I don't think I can make the menu show that you'll recieve more than one)
Depending on the quality of your ingredients, the quality and amount of food items you can craft will change. Hopefully this will give you more incentive to craft and use the items now!
-The ~perfect~ quality biscuits remain the same as before, they heal you 30 health points and have no radiation, and make for a good quick snack.
-The Stale biscuits, if you don't have good water on you but have otherwise good produce, will give you a little radiation (4 points, the same as the vanilla game Sweetroll), but will still heal you.
-The last item, the Irradiated biscuits, if you have bad produce AND no clean water, will yield the highest quantity, but the worst quality, but only slightly. They have only 5 points of radiation, and still heal you the same as all the rest. So if a teensy bit of radiation doesn't concern you and you really need some food, it may be the option you'd rather choose.
Since this mod utilises wild plants, you may want to use a mod that lets you grow them in your settlements as well, such as Wild Harvestables.
The textures on the SIDE of the sweetroll/biscuit are a little... misaligned, also. Look, I'm not the best artist okay? I did this in like 5 minutes. You'll hardly be studying the SIDE of it I'm sure. If it bothers you that much then, well, honestly I don't care. I have better things to be doing with my life than painstakingly aligning the texture of a 3D food item for a game that's 5 years old. Like eating the actual biscuit IRL. It's not that noticeable anyway, you'll be fine.
If you have any other suggestions let me know!
How are you justifying that recipe for what is essentially a sugary and buttery cookie?
Well, I figure one part corn to boil down for a sweet corn syrup, one part corn to make a cereal to substitute for oats, one part razorgrain to use as a wheat flour, and one part water to turn the dry ingredients into a dough. Step two: BAKE IT. It's a bit of a stretch, I know, but we must take liberties in the Wasteland. Bethesda has done worse war crimes than I before!
