About this mod

This mod makes several large changes to the game. It removes the Minutemen as a playable faction. Populated settlements will no longer be recuitable. The general population of humans in the world have been reduced by 33-50 percent.

Permissions and credits
I personally find that the commonwealth is over populated.
One of the reasons I like far harbor so much is the lack of human interaction outside of the hubs.

I have gone through and removed all generic NPCs in Diamond City. In Goodneighbor I left 3-4. Bunker hill has no unnamed NPC. The security forces in those cities, have been reduced by half. All the generic rail road agents from the their bases have been removed, as they have just managed to survive a huge defeat. The roaming caravan guards have been removed as well.

I have reduced the number of raiders and gunners in each of their bases and stronghold. Named raiders and gunners have not been affected. The over all effect is to create a more desolate and isolated world, reduced loot, reduced experience from combat, and a jarring switch from exploring scaving/to combat.

Overall, it gives the player the feeling that the human race is holding on by the skin of its teeth, not thriving.

The Minute Men have been removed as a player faction. Meaning that Preston Garbagy and gang will be dead when the player hits the museum. If you are playing through the vanilla game you can completely fail the main quest and game. If you get kicked out of the institute and are not part of the BOS or you are hostile with them, you will have no way of progressing the quest (which I find to be more true to previous fallout games).The player is able to still do the radial recruitment quests for settlements however on completion the settlement will not be turned over to the player. The player will only be able to take over non-population settlements. If the player really wants one of those settlements they will need to go to the darkside and kill the settlers. 

A new game is required for this mod. 


There is an optional version where the Minutemen are alive and there are no changes to the settlement system. Just the changes to the population of the world.

If you are using an alternative start mod activate this mod after you leave the vault or start up sequence is done.

I highly recommend Damn Apocalypse as an accompanying mod, as it reduces the amount of loot, and increases the cost of everything. 

Skk50's stalkers mod is another good accompanying mod as it spawns enemies that hunt down and track the player.
