About this mod
Adds a craftable item which toggles the highlight living / dead / friendly effect overlay from the eyewear mods used in Armorsmith Extended off and back on. The item is weightless and can be hotkeyed for use with the favourites menu or with FO4 Hotkeys..

- Changelogs
Of course you love eyewear mods that highlight enemies and lovely, loot filled corpses. We all do. Sometimes however, when you are wanting to take in the view or get a nice screenshot, they ruin the aesthetic a little. It did for me at least. That's why I
It can be hotkeyed either as a vanilla favourite or using FO4 Hotkeys or the like.
This is a mod designed for utility and primarily for personal use so the item is just generic and I only added a sound effect so that I knew it was working, but if anyone has any suggestions on how to improve it I am willing to hear them out!
Technical Details
- Adds a new aid item which when used, uses a spell to trigger a magic effect (that's what they are called in the editor, I'm not implying I'm a wizard) which fires a script which adds or removes a hidden "disable detect effect" perk to and from the player.
- Adds the item as constructible object to the Chemistry Station (under Utilities).
- Amends the magic effects from Armorsmith Extended (maybe they are wizards, I dunno) so that they are not shown if the player has said perk.
- Also adds another condition to the effects so that they are automatically hidden when the player is in Dialogue (as this was also doing my tits in).
- The script runs only when the item is used, and either adds or removes the perk and adds a copy of the item to the player's inventory (as the item is consumed when used; adding another when it's used is a workaround for this limitation).
Installation
- Mod Manager: Install as usual. ESP should be loaded after Armorsmith Extended (and has it as a master so unless your mod manager is absolute rubbish it should do so automatically). Personally I use Vortex (took me a while but I'm getting used to it).
- Manual: extract archive into your Fallout 4\Data folder, keeping the script in the subfolders.
Compatability
Unless you have another mod editing the magic effects that Armorsmith Extended uses for the eyewear mods nothing should conflict as everything else is new for this mod. If you find something is not working try moving this mod down your load order.
Requirements
- Armorsmith Extended - obviously. If I recall AE requires all the DLC, but come on, at this point you can get them for next to nothing and Far Harbor and Nuka World are definitely worth the asking price.
Recommendations
- FO4 Hotkeys - so you can hotkey the item to a more convenient button.
Known Issues
None as of writing - if you find any let me know!
