I have been around this site for a while, but only in the last 2 years have I released anything. I used to just edit plugins for myself, and then I learned how to port mods. Thanks to other great tutorials, and developing my own techniques on the way. I now feel that I can finally contribute something personal and unique.

This was written with beginners in mind, but I do touch on some more advanced subjects within. I also had to develop my own methods for the texture work, as well as importing gloves, so this might be an interesting read for veteran modders as well.

While some of the subjects and methods herein have already been covered in other tutorials, as far as I am aware, this is the first time all of these details have been covered in a single pdf. It is not my intention to outshine those other tutorials, but rather, to ensure a fully comprehensive learning experience, without the need to scour the internet.

If there's enough interest I may add more tutorials in the future. My plans are as follows:

  • Back-porting to Skyrim, I actually planned to do this at the same time, but due to various distractions I was unable to.
  • Add an inanimate object tutorial.
  • If I can figure it out, adding physics.
