Add New Names (RNS version 1.1 or higher): Adding new names to the list is a very simple process that takes more time than skill. You can find a tutorial on how to add more names to Real Name Settlers here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Mxi6gOKQnk
>Adding names on your own requires: - Fallout 4 Creation Kit - FO4Edit - The .esm-file found in the downloads section - NO previous knowledge
this mod is (as you obviously noticed) discontinued. I am not playing Fallout 4 anymore and as the main reason for creating mods was to play them by myself, there won't be any further updates and the mod is provided "as is".
Feel free to continue, copy or edit in any way you wish. Some kind of credits if eligible would be awesome. Wish I could provide you the raw data but I actually don't have them anymore because of a disc wipe.
part of me likes the idea with this mod, the other part of me might believe every NPC is unique and then it might make the game feel like every NPC is unique to the point where i think they are more special than they actually are.
like i'm used to quest mods labeling a named NPC, but when you turn random NPC's into unique named people, they suddenly appear to be important when they are just your run of the mill NPC.
Found James Taylor still living in the Commonwealth--He appeared as a randomly generated settler from this mod, I handed him a guitar from the Fallout Instrument Pack, and voila! No other mods were used to create this image, and this is not the Sole Survivor. (see pic under "images")
Not sure if this is still relevant but this mod works just fine with Better Settlers and its Clothing/Hair pack if you patch the changes forward using Xedit. Just FYI. Love this mod!
For those of us who actually like this mod and Better Settlers, consider swapping over to the Alias series by WhiskyTangoFawks, released just a few months ago. No patching needed.
Is there an option for first names only at all? This with Orphans of the commonwealth makes it super difficult to set up "families" lol got an unmarried couple and an adopted child at best in every house lol.
Kind of a hackjob method, but if you took all the last names and replaced the text with a single space it should appear as them being first name only. Alternatively, those married couples just didn't change their last names maybe?
Any mod that adds settlers needs to be patched, and this is probably the same for mods that edit existing settlers due to this touching NPC data. (Which is also why Far Harbor settlers aren't affected by this mod.)
Not something needing to be fixed, just a mod conflict that needs to be patched.
