So, while I'm taking a break from weapon modding, I've decided to try something new and made this.


This mod is an expansion to fantastic Be Exceptional - Skills and Perk Overhaul by rcoll. His mod (along with the master LevelUpMenuEx by neanka of course) is inseparable from my load order for a long time, I just wanted to spice it up a little.


The mod is kinda in beta right now, it's quite time consuming to test if all those perks are working correctly. They should, in theory. So if you'll come across any bugs - report them. There's no any kind of heavy scripting (cuz I dunno how to script lul), just one tiny little modified vanilla script that's firing when reading a magazine, nothing running in background, so you won't break anything. In worst case if you've got a feeling that some perk is ruining your gameplay you'll need to remove perk manually by using player.removeperk console command.

After the November 2019 Fallout 4 update Bethesda implemented a version check: the mods created after the update WON'T WORK in outdated Fallout 4! If your game version is below 1.10.162 you won't be able to use this mod.
You should either:
- update your Fallout 4 to the latest version
- use FO4Edit to change version in Header to 0.9500 (you'll need to do it again if I will release any .esp update)
Also if your Fallout 4 game version is lower than 1.10 even if you'll edit file header in FO4Edit you will most likely experience crashes in workbench and inspect menus!
tl;dr - keep your game up to date!


What it does:
- adds new skill called "Survival" for various perks to make your life in the wasteland a bit easier;
- adds 32 new perks dependent on either new Survival skill and existing Be Exceptional skills.

  • Add more New Vegas flavour to Survival skill progression (i.e., add Survival skill amount requirements to cooking recipes)
  • Add Survival Mode related perks to Survival skill (not sure about that cuz vanilla survival mode is... annoying. And mostly hardcoded as far as I know)
  • Add more cool perks (not too many, don't want to make perk list too cluttered)


While it's in beta, feel free to report any bugs you'll experience, and if I'll be able to replicate them on my side, I'll do my best to fix them.
Also feel free to share your ideas for other perks. If I'll like your idea - I'll try to implement it if my skill will be enough for it.

Close and Personal (2 ranks):
Short description: Sneak damage for one-handed melee weapons x5/x10
Long description: Being undetected still doesn't magically increase your firearm's damage. But you can draw your knife and cut their heads off! Increases your one-handed sneak melee damage 5/10 times.
Requirements: Sneak 30/60

Parkour Enthusiast/Expert/Master (3 ranks):
Short description: Fall damage -25/-50/-75%
Long description: Everyone can fly, but only a few know how to safely land. Decreases your fall damage by 25/50/75%.
Requirements: Survival 30/60/90

Dirty Harry (2 ranks):
Short description: .44 Revolver headshot chance +10/+20%
Long description: You're holding the one of most powerful handguns in the world. Blow their heads clean off! Increases headshot chance for any .44 revolver in VATS by 10/20%.
Requirements: Pistols 45/90

Ballistics Expert:
Short description: Effective range for ballistic guns x1.5
Long description: Your custom loaded ammunition and expertise in windage and elevation allows you to shoot from ballistic weapons at longer distances. You'll be the last thing they never see.
Requirements: Gunsmith 60

Lightning Reflexes:
Short description: Able to block ballistic/energy attacks
Long description: Only the true masters of melee are fast enough to block bullets with their melee weapon. Now you're one of them.
Requirements: Melee 100

Explorer:
Short description: x3 XP for discovering new locations
Long description: You feel a special excitement in exploring new places. XP bonus for discovering is tripled now.
Requirements: Survival 30

Snake Eater:
Short description: -75% poison damage taken
Long description: You've poisoned yourself so many times it began to pay off. Poison damage reduced by 75%.
Requirements: Survival 70

Thick Skinned:
Short description: -75% fire and acid damage taken, -1 Charisma
Long description: Your skin is the opposite of soft and sensitive. Not sure if it made you more attractive, but certainly more durable. Decreases you charisma by 1, but also fire and acid damage by 75%.
Requirements: Survival 90

Sharpshooter (2 ranks):
Short description: +10/+20% headshot chance with any weapon
Long description: You have enough experience with firearms so you don't need to hire a mercenary to teach you how to score a headshot. Increases headshot chance for any weapon in VATS by 10/20%.
Requirements: Level 10/25, Perception 7/8

Swift Learner:
Short description: +10% XP
Long description: There's always more of where it's came from. From now on, gain 10% more XP from any activities. It's that simple.
Requirements: Level 30, Survival 50

Pyromaniac:
Short description: +50% fire damage dealt
Long description: Check twice where your Molotovs at, because you're dealing 50% more damage with fire and fire-based weapons now.
Requirements: Explosives 60

Stay Frosty:
Short description: +50% frost damage dealt, -50% frost damage taken
Long description: Since your favorite Mortal Kombat character was Sub-Zero, you love every opportunity to freeze someone to death. +50% damage with frost and frost-based weapons. 50% frost resistance.
Requirements: Explosives 40

Thoughtful Reader:
Short description: 100 XP from reading magazines
Long description: You take reading very seriously and tend to learn something new every time you reading a book. Gain 100 XP from reading magazines.
Requirements: Intelligence 6

Anatomy Knowledge:
Short description: +25% limb damage dealt to humanoids
Long description: You know exactly how to cut off their limbs. Deal 25% more limb damage to humans, ghouls, supermutants and gen 3 synths.
Requirements: Medicine 60

Mix it!:
Short description: Recipe: Stimpak+Med-X+Jet (Restore health, +15% damage resistance for 1 minute, slow time by 40% for 5 seconds. No addiction chance.)
Long description: Why settle for less when you can take it all? Grants you the ability to combine Stimpak, Med-X and Jet into Military Stimpak. Slightly less effective, but all at once and without addiction!
Requirements: Chemistry 40

It's Raining Lead:
Short description: 10% knockdown chance and +25% limb damage dealt with Minigun
Long description: Make the Minigun great again! Shots from minigun have 10% chance to knock the target down and also dealing 25% more limb damage.
Requirements: Heavy Weapons 40

Brotherhood To The Bone:
Short description: Damage +10% to and -10% from ghouls, supermutants and synths
Long description: You've been deeply impressed with the BoS ideology and cleansing the Commonwealth from abominations became your life's goal. +10% damage to and -10% damage from ghouls, supermutants and synths.
Requirements: Completed "Show No Mercy" quest

RobCo Sales Rep:
Short description: Damage +10% to and -10% from robots
Long description: You know how to sell robots. Unfortunately, this skill is useless novadays. On the bright side, you know their weak points very well. +10% damage to and -10% damage from any robots.
Requirements: Barter 60

Law Enforcer:
Short description: Damage +10% to and -10% from raiders, gunners and triggermen
Long description: Stop right there criminal scum! You're now dedicated to the idea of maintaining law and order in the Commonwealth. +10% damage to and -10% damage from raiders, gunners and triggermen.
Requirements: Completed "The Silver Shroud" quest

Beloved Leader:
Short description: +30% companion damage while player's HP below 30%
Long description: You inspiring your companions so much they are enraged if someone tries to kill you. Every time your HP drops below 30% your companion deals 30% more damage.
Requirements: Charisma 7

Infiltrator:
Short description: +15% crouched speed and -15% detection chance without any armor
Long description: Swift and deadly! While wearing no armor parts you move 15% faster while crouched and 15% less likely to be detected.
Requirements: Sneak 25

Special Tactics and Recon Unit:
Short description: Companions not alerting enemies in sneak
Long description: Bravo team, going dark. Your companions no longer alert enemies in sneak mode.
Requirements: Sneak 100

Special Agent (2 ranks):
Short description: +50/+100% damage with silenced pistols, +25/+50% stealth boy duration
Long description: Who needs those bulky rifles if a well placed shot from a handgun can make all the difference? Deal 50/100% more damage with silenced pistols while undetected. Stealth Boy duration +25/50%.
Requirements: Sneak 45/90

Firearms Instructor:
Short description: +20% companion damage, -1 Charisma
Long description: You know what is last round bolt hold open and love teaching others about it whether they like it or not. -1 Charisma, but your companions deal 20% more damage.
Requirements: Gunsmith 70

The Bone Zone:
Short description: +30% limb damage with blunt melee weapons and explosives
Long description: That sweet sound of breaking bones drives you crazy! You deal 30% more limb damage with blunt melee weapons and explosives.
Requirements: Survival 55

Radiation Absorber:
Short description: Slowly decrease rads
Long description: Your body adapts to the apocalypse surprisingly well. Your radiation level slowly decreases over time.
Requirements: Survival 60

Eagle Eye:
Short description: Illuminate targets on aiming
Long description: You have eyes like a... well, good eyes. Whenever you aim down sights, all living targets will be illuminated.
Requirements: Perception 8, Survival 80

Lowlife:
Short description: No addictions while wearing 3+ parts of raider armor
Long description: Now you know why them raiders are wearing that ugly junk instead of armor. While wearing at least 3 parts of raider armor, you can't become addicted to chems.
Requirements: Survival 15

Tough Guy/Gal:
Short description: x2 chance for successful persuasion
Long description: You've been through some rough stuff, and your looks reflect that. Your persuasion attemts are twice likely to succeed.
Requirements: Level 20, Survival 85

Psychotic:
Short description: x2 duration and +25% magnitude for Psycho
Long description: F**KIN' KILL!!! Psycho lasts twice longer and 25% more effective.
Requirements: Survival 45

Second Skin:
Short description: Armor weight -90%
Long description: You've spent so much time in your armor you barely feel it. Weight of your equipped armor is reduced by 90%.
Requirements: Survival 100
