its pretty simple to convert to 2k, i just did it successfully.
      use: Fallout 4 Texture Resizer
and follow the sticky post instructions by Nikse
overwrite the installed textures with the upscaled ones

It would be really nice if we could just all agree on a resolution to use for face mods. I say that because everyone just seems to publish in a random resolution, forget to put it in the description, forget to make patches, and break compatibility with everything. Bonus points if it's been compressed and they don't offer loose files too. I'm sorry to complain but the rusty face bug is so hard to diagnose with big setups, it took me all morning to realise this specific mod was outdated, so the textures are 1k, so it's causing the rusty face. Would've taken 1 minute if he just put it in the description.

We really need a program which scans the textures related to faces, and warns you if one of them doesn't match the size you want. Going through them manually in windows is so irritating. I did try Fallout 4 Texture Resizer but it didn't seem to play well with these textures for me. Honestly I just gave up and all my face textures are now staying at 1k, you can barely see a difference imo, and going higher just isn't worth the hassle.

This is almost a decade old haha, but I agree a lot of modders work independently instead of together. Its funny because they will ask for patron support or even money for there mods but I'd be willing to drop money in a community of modders working to put out overhauls that compliment each other. An example being a body package with its skins, makeup , body , head and seamless or high polys and outfits alike, instead its all loose files and non sense because they want to be the top mod, I hope that nexus mods can encourage cooperation in the future with other modders.

Idk why but this only happens with Platinum Curie mod with me, everytime I fast travel her make up keeps resetting and only when I open through the slm the makeup returns.

This is a problem with Curie in general, if you want to edit her, follow this guide. https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/images/193449/

do these apply to every npc or just yours at character creation? I really don't want it to be for everyone, just limit it for character creation and leave the npcs untouched

Sorry, but imho these eye changes made vanilla Piper look worse (tired, and older), and in my largely vanilla loadout I didn't see any females improved. I also thought Desdemona's eyes looked worse (heavier, tired, due to heavier thick black lining). And I didn't notice much/any benefit to vanilla lips.

UPDATE: But using just the lip mask did improve some female companion replacer mods I've been trying out lately, such as Unique Curie Companion Optional mod, a pic of which I uploaded here. So your mileage may vary depending on which female mods you use.
Thus I've returned to endorse, at least for the lip mask. Thanks.

If anybody is currently still having the tan face glitch with this mod I've finally fixed it. I downloaded Fallout 4 Texture Resizer https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/17624 and I launched it and selected the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\Textures\Actors\Character folder and In the optimizer I selected all 4096 and 2048 textures to be resized to 1024(respectively though resize them to whatever size your basefemalehead_d.dds is. I use Valkyr face but if you use 2k or 4k do this
    2k faces resize 1024 and 4096 to 2048
    4k faces resize 1024 and 2048 to 4096
It fixed the black face and should optimize characters from other mods as well. I'm currently testing LMCC and Deluxe makeup and optimizing those textures for 1024 as well to be compatible with the Valkyr face. I'm guessing this process should work with other face mods/presets as long as you optimize it for the size the original base face texture size as the tan face is caused by textures not properly applying to the face size due to incompatible differences. I really hope this helps other people. Love this mod Fuse!!! ~<3 Stunning faces
HUGE DISCLAIMER: MAKE SURE THAT THE CHARACTER ASSET DIRECTORY IS EMPTY WHEN TESTING INITIALLY IF YOU'RE STILL EXPERIANCING PROBLEMS. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Data\Textures\Actors\Character\Character Assets
EDIT:So I was able to get LMCC to work by optimizing the textures using that tool I mentioned and got Deluxe makeup to work as well. Just make sure that you also optimize the textures within this mod to match the size of your face texture as well. Hope this helps, I love the makeup!!

Doesn't LMCC have its own 2K textures? If you have 2k face it should be compatible right?

Yeah LMCC has a 2k textures under *Optional Files* ... (Hope this helps someone)

      https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/24830?tab=files

Since I use "Natural 2k Face Textures" ^ this really came in handy when I wanted to use ANY paint, tattoo, or makeup options on my characters. It also helped with NPCs that had the front or back of their head tinted a completely different color (not just blackface.) Sometimes the back of their head or neck was a different color.

I use the "Real HD Face Textures" and it says this mod is redundant if loaded before but I get the bug when loading it below. I'm using LMCC and the 2k patch. so do I just need to resize them to make it work?

Why each time I tried enabled the Deluxe makeup Lip liner mask, the Vortex message keep say "some mod are redundant?" and it point at lip liner mask? but the eye liner mask is fine?

    Great mod. Better character, lol.

Did you ever finish/post the character preset?
