About this mod

A small mod I made for fun, the N96 is based upon a mixture of the N99 Combat (Fallout 4), and the N99 Standard (Fallout 3 and New Vegas), as well as a few little changes here and there to make the gun a bit more unique and fun to shoot. Since it's a prototype, only a couple can be found in the Commonwealth.

Slatech N96 Prototype pistol

"The N96 prototype pistol was part of a trial run for a new standard pistol to replace the N80 design pistols, one of the main requirements being a rugged design able to withstand constant decay for potentially hundreds of years. The result of Slatechs designs were the N96 pattern pistols, which ultimately lost their position in the trials due to "creative differences" between the main designer and the US Military, namely a difficult to maintain internal slide lock which had a slight habit of completely destroying itself and causing damage to the also internal slide catch. The safety release was difficult to reach even in ideal combat conditions, and the slide was heavy and difficult to manipulate.

Despite all of this, the N96 was reasonably reliable, able to withstand even more potential carnage than the N99, and very powerful."




The weapon can be obtained from the Castle's interior, or the National Guard Training Yard behind a locked door. (Or you can just get the id by typing in help N96 4, then player.additem followed by the id given: This method might give you upgraded versions, though).


The modifications included are designed to be mostly similar to the vanilla 10mm's mods, with a few differences to keep the gun useful for slightly longer. I'm hoping to keep the stats true to the vanilla game so that they're not ridiculously overpowered.

  • Added muzzle breaks to muzzle list
  • Added quick eject magazines
  • added reflex sight
  • New, more powerful gunshot sound effect


  • Changed meshes for barrels to be more in line with the receiver's style
  • Improved textures with better speculars
  • Buffed damage to make the gun more in line with the Deliverer
  • Tweaked glow sights spacing and size
  • Minor mesh tweaks and bugfixes

Currently working on recipes to create the gun, as well as more locations to find the gun (potentially leveled lists).
There may be a few mesh issues as I had to rework the attachment points for a lot of parts I remodeled.
