Is it possible to just make the same companion flags and actor settings like Ada, Codsworth or Jezebel so that they would not reset? Or maybe just copy their actor everytime you make a base Protectron in the robot workbench?
I'm not a modder so I have no idea, but I read around the internet that robots will become protected from being essential after you made them as provisioner, that means their flags or actor settings changes from being your companion to becoming a settler. And I never read that Codsworth, Jezebel & Ada has reset bug.
Edit: Does anyone also tried the robots in Graygarden? Do they also have reset bugs?
I spent two days Googling for a fix and reading threads and found nothing. Then I search "automatron" on Nexus and this is the third result. f*** me.
Downloading and endorsing. Hoping it works.
Update: Didn't work for a bot created after mod installation. Still, keeping my fingers crossed. No one else is making anything similar so thank you for trying.
when you make your own custom provisioners over time some of them will get a full reset to default protectron (parts and paint and voice ... everything (i think that only name remains the same) i usually create them all at mechanist's base to use it as a main hub
To me it seems that some bots are more prone to having this issue than others as well. Sentry, RoboBrains, NukaWorld based ones seem to be the most prone. I have not see it with AssultTrons but that could simply be observational basis on my part. The other weird thing is that for bots using tracks like Robobrains, they still make that sound. A good way to cache it happening is to use the Mechanist's base as a central hub then fast travel of sleep/wait until 8am when the bulk of your bots should be there. Usually there will be at least one or two in this state. Using a mix of bot types as well, seems to help bring it out.
I've seen it multiple times happening to Assaultrons as well. Mine are usually heavily armored and armed to the teeth (dual gattlings + head laser), but after hundreds of hours of gameplay most of them reset to the base model.
It's not only provisioners for me, too. I have 2 protectrons at Sanctuary that I keep around for, well, protection, and aesthetics, annd they keep resetting. I begin to hate them. But I love them so so much.
I was hoping this would help, but I just ran into 2 robot provisioners that I built after installing this mod, and they were default again. I even tried using them as followers, but it didn't help. Bugthesda strikes again...
Nice idea, but this mod doesn't work for me. It would've been really nice if you could use automatrons as provisioners without any problems but we're talking about Bethesda here, so that's apparently too much to ask. Kinda takes the whole idea of the DLC if your automatrons randomly turns back into useless buckets of bolts...
It seems, at some moment the game decides to "recycleactor" provisioner robot, a unique flag for the actor wont't help. Don't know if it's possible to find and modify that problematic part of the engine script. As an idea, when robots are assigned to supply line to save their mods data to an array and, in case of reset, update robot's mods from the array, checking the current mods with a time interval.
