Just like you would in games like Escape From Tarkov, protect your head and chest but don't make the mistake to believe that this can ever be enought.
Wasteland Ballistics will force you to play smartly and plan your actions more, even well protected, no matter what level you are.
Just as important as protection, bullet penetration is now a thing to worry about.
With this mod enabled, you won't need to alter the balance of the vanilla game. You won't even need the damage increase of better receivers (keep your crafting material). In fact, eventhough they don't make any sence, armor piercing receivers will greatly improve the performance of your weapon against armored enemies (especially pistols, carbines and submachine guns).

Beyond the description, you will have to test for yourself the efficiency of different ammunition and weapon type in different situations.

The level of difficulty will depend on your load order. Installing cool weapon mods can be a double edged sword.

Wasteland Ballistics is one of the most complete and compatible mod of its kind out of the box.

For anyone without doubts have no doubt just download the mod and enjoy a new level of difficulty. This mod really changes the entire game.

I dont usually comment on mods but....YOUR mod add a new level of gameplay.
Let me put it this way: Usually I clear Corvega in less than 5m even on very hard bur with your mod installed, it took me a solid 20m to clear it.
I mean, your mod forced me to hide, use cover, lay down traps and draw them out. I spent all my grenades on them and, because I play with Endless Warfare increased spawns, I even had to reload the save a couple of times to try diferent tactics. Yes, this mod is that insanly good.

You didnt mention that even missiles have a wider blast radius, got hammered by them left and right, kudos to you dude. Really fraking awsome mod.
Thank you for sharing this pearl with us and take care.

Masterpiece would be under selling this mod. Project Zero combined with Pack Attack is like playing old school Rainbow Six, when video games used to punish your errors with instant death but were the most adrenaline pumping virtual experience you could imagine.

I tried BLD and it has some nice concepts but ultimately it still relies on the weapon damage stat so you get to a point where you can just out gun everything and it can't support weapon mods without breaking it. WB allows you to fully customize your game without any stress, without the need to download a ton of micro patches and hotfixes and without breaking the design of the mod.

The bleed mechanic is punishing as hell but damn does it get your blood pumping when you are clearing tight corridors and rooms in close quarters combat. The amount of times I've been moving tactically clearing rooms and had a couple of raiders suddenly ambush me and it's all about reaction speed of who pulls the trigger first and trying not to get hit by a stray bullet as all hell breaks loose. Then that panic moment when you do take a hit in a full on fire fight and you know that you only have 2-3 seconds to stop the bleeding whilst trying not to get hit again. You feel like John Wick when you drop 2-3 Raiders whilst darting across a corridor with your SMG, stem the bleed from any shots you took and then drop the guy sneaking up on you with a well placed shot through a crack in the wall. It is just one crazy wild ride when things do not go to plan but damn does it feel good when you come out of it as the lone survivor.

I've only use it in the early game so far so I can't comment on how the armour later game protects against the bleed effect but I'm quite happy for the mod to continue being as punishing as the early game has been.

One word of warning to anyone who uses a laser musket replacer like I do. It might be too over powered as the damage is clearly aimed at it being single shot with a long reload to keep it balanced. I just simply avoid using the semi auto one I have modded into my game.

10/10, this one will not ever be leaving my load order.

I'm having a hard time understanding the full scope of both this and True Damage. Are they copacetic together or do they both do basically the same thing? My assumption was this was for wounds and true damage would be for the actual health damage?

The mod is interesting, but damn, the opponents don’t even let you get out, you show yourself a little and it immediately flies into your head.It wouldn't be a bad idea to slightly reduce the accuracy of enemies. It’s very annoying that in the game, even when you use the tilt mod, you still have to almost crawl out completely, because for some reason the bullets hit an invisible wall.

Try something like this. There's a very similar one on Bethesda.net for console users as well.

[Wasteland Ballistics Damaging through 105% sentinel, Adamantium Skeleton, and Cheat holotape's god mode?]

Just curious how the damage is being dealt from the mod.  I have been doing some testing with the Shield Framework mods and I noticed that I was dying despite having 100% damage reduction from those mods.  I retested with God Mode, Adamantium Skeleton, and 105% sentinel damage reduction and found myself both taking limb damage, bleeding, and dying after my head and chest reached 0%.

I retested without the mod and I was invulnerable to limb damage with adamantium skeleton.  And fully invulnerable with god mode.

I kind of like this interacts with the shield mods which makes sense given that even bullet proof materials lead to bruising, and broken body parts due to the transfer of impact despite no penetration.  But regarding the amount of limb damage done, does the mod do a set amount of limb damage based on the material on the impacted limb?  Does DR rating or the strengthening mod make a significant difference?  (I set the Ballistic shield DR to 300 and still got melted in about 10 seconds by a turret.  I'm guessing the mod just checks my limb's material, being Synth armor at the time.)

A quick search revealed nothing on the subject i will ask about... Is there some way to apply bandages to a bleeding NPC? Its painful looking at an inventory full of various bandages and having a rank invested in Medic and the only thing i can do for a settler or Minuteman bleeding out is to just drop 99 bandages in front of them and watch them die.

While I already use Gunfighter Framework for the combat enhancement overhaul this provides, I appreciate all the extra files provided. Confirmed the .308 casing mesh works for fixing the .308 bugs from vanilla (Munitions also provides a similar replacement) and the other combat stuff looks interesting to try.

This mod doesn't touch armor at all, nor is there an armor integrity mechanic in the mod. I'm guessing you're referring to the body/head/limb condition. I haven't played vanilla Fallout 4 in such a long time, but I think in vanilla these regen on their own or with a stimpak. With hardcore mods which prevent limb regen, you'll have to use chems which restore limb condition, or visit a doctor.

And yes, you die when your body or head condition get low, as this means your character is suffering from damage to major organs in the body or head. The overall health pool is better thought of as how far the character is from being unconscious while the body/head/limb damage is an indication of how damaged those body parts actually are.

This mod is the only one I've found that adds a bleeding mechanic and works for vr. Super kudos man. It was like the last thing I needed to round out the game, I can finally put serious time into playing the game and not just completing my mod list

got this for xbox and i have to say it's good for the difficulty spike, but bad for "immersive" caliber penetration. I've had issues where full heavy combat armor was penetrated by a .38. Super mutants are no longer super, especially the behemoth but other enemies are fine. On pc you can make tweaks here and there but on console peasants have to make do with out of the box.

If you look at even heavy combat armor, it has plenty of sizeable gaps for bullets or at the very least spalling to pass through and hit the wearer. Unfortunately, it's impossible to have the bullet detect whether it hit a plate or a gap in the armor; the best the engine can do is detect which body part was hit.

So, a single .38 won't (or shouldn't) kill you, but being sprayed by .38 should. After all, the odds are one or more of those would hit you in an unprotected spot.

I've been playing with this mod for a long time and that's how it works for me. I haven't seen myself get 1-shotted by .38 through heavy combat armor, though getting hit at close range by an automatic burst does kill quickly, as it should.

Then I suggest the Mod DirectHit should play well with this one as it addresses your point afaik...

Does anybody else have NPCs who won't often bleed from gunshots? Explosions still seem to cause bleeding, but bullets don't. Not sure if it's something on my end.

Edit: Nevermind, I do have NPC bleed damage enabled, they just bleed SUPER slowly from bullets.
