I always wondered what use revolvers were in the game, because their rate of fire is so low. There is no incentive for me to use a pipe revolver that barely does double the damage per shot of a basic pipe gun, when the semi auto pipe gun fires ten times faster. Also, the ability to expand the pipe gun magazine size makes the revolver seem very weak in comparison. I have never made a mod before, and I was surprised at how easy it was to change the revolver ROF. All it took was to uncheck a single box in the creation kit revolver weapon description window. Now, the revolver will fire every time I pull the trigger, and as fast as I can pull the trigger. ROF for a standard pipe revolver is now increased from 6 to about 66.

For some reason Bethesda made revolvers load like double action revolvers, in which the entire cylinder flips out to the side, but made them fire single action style. Now all vanilla revolvers can be fired double action (the .44 and the Western Revolver too). Watch the recoil though - if you fire too fast the last two or three shots will be well above the target. I did nothing to modify weapon damage, or the vanilla recoil.

Some people may argue that the Western revolver should be left single action. I just wanted revolvers to be more useful, so lore friendliness was not really a concern for me. Some double action revolvers were in use by the late 1870's anyway, so maybe this is lore friendly after all.
