Oil. It's used for pretty much every weapon mod and a bunch of recipes, and there's never enough of it around- especially if you're like me and also use Immersive Fast Travel, meaning you need oil for making fuel. Thankfully, there's a cheap and plentiful raw material for making oil out there in the wasteland- plastic! In real life, various types of plastic can be broken down into fuel oil in a process known as pyrolysis. It's not economically viable right now, but in a postapocalyptic wasteland? Sure, why not? Real-life pyrolysis can produce diesel oil with 56% efficiency, meaning there's nearly a ratio of 2:1 plastic used to oil created. This mod is somewhat less efficient, as 20 plastic and 1 glass will produce 1 bottle of oil, which breaks down to 4 oil and 1 glass. This 4-1 ratio is both to balance the mod and because hey- you're not exactly working in a pristine lab, the process will be less efficient. The recipe can be found in the Utility tab when crafting at a chemistry station, and requires Science! rank 1.
