Hello for anyone having issues, like having all requirements but still not working. It is likely you're skeleton being overwritten by another mod.

In my case I am using Discrete Female Skeleton, I checked in FO4Edit and can see the directory was overwitten by Zella Hair Dyes... so it could be any mod in anyones case...

Check you're skeletons .esp in fo4 edit, if it is being overwritten just give it parity over other mods overwriting it, you don't need to change load order(though that will probably work too. just put the skeletons.esp below the offending mods). In my case the directory for the skeleton was being overwritten so I just dragged it over the mods that overwriting.

    Hope this helps.

Ok so, to all you goobers that have a pirated version of the game. HHS doesn't work with an outdated version of F4SE. You need to go download the corresponding version of HHS for the version of the game/F4SE you have. A lot of you probably use Fallout 4  0.163 which corresponds to  F4SE 0.6.23. To find out what version of the game you have, find the actual game launcher fallout4.exe, right click it and select properties, then go to details.

    Go here: https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/39850?tab=files
Scroll down to the Old Files section and download the one corresponding to the version you have. If you're still lost, look at the description of each file and download one with "F4SE 06.18 or greater".

Why I have followed the installation sequence of PKO (F4SE>Skeletal Adjustments for CBBE - Knee Fix>Fallout 4 High Heels System). And according to YuseiYamoto's teaching, in the folder of high heels NIF (Fallout 4/data/meshes/HighHeels), Create a txt file on the 11th high-heeled shoe I like, and the file name is the same as NIF (HighHeels11.txt), then enter Height=10.0 in the txt file, save and enter the game, but still see the high-heeled shoes sinking into the ground?

The high heels I downloaded are

I can see this working for the player, but it doesn't seem to apply to NPCs, which was my main reason for wanting it.

It works for NPC too.  Here is what worked for me

      1. you need to restart the game for it to apply.
      2. the name of the file should match the name of the cloth or armor not the heel name.
      3. txt File needs to be in the correct location (different for each cloth). the correct file location can be checked by using bodyslider, find the cloth you are fixing, and look at the file path.

the best way to do this is create a save with a female player, for easier testing. Use console command to give yourself the cloth you want to fix. use MCM menu's test height option to see if it fixes for the player. Then use create option to create txt file in HHS folder. Then use bodyslider to find the cloth's folder, and move the text file over, or in many case a txt file already exist then just edit that file in the correct folder. Then restart the game and load your actual save and check if the NPC you want is fixed.

I did two things that I think could have conceivably been the culprit that fixed the "ankles sinking into the ground" issue. I give a disclaimer: I don't know all of what everyone has installed, so maybe it won't work for someone...but I tried so many solutions found both in nexus and elsewhere, and the tutorial, if this works for me I feel like (and I'm sure we all feel like we have it the worst of anyone, we're the most incompetent, unlucky, etc. Especially when we see other people reporting solutions that then don't work for us) maybe it might help someone. (I would like to help everyone, but that's optimistic.)

    1. (I use Vortex btw) I ran down my entire "Mods" list in Vortex and reinstalled all mods related to body things and outfits (also purging some mods that felt redundant). Just in case. This one feels less influential.

    2. When the option arose while reinstalling Skeletal Adjustments for CBBE (Legs For Days), I switched out the "DFS" Installation Type for "Vanilla" Installation Type. (I as well chose "Vanilla" as my GSS for Male NPCs, though after testing, choosing the other option is not a problem for me).
OH! (This is an addendum.) After further testing in the midst of typing this, it should be noted, I don't have the "Discrete Female Skeleton" mod installed, yet I had initially selected that option for the installation type, thinking it was an option within the Skeletal mod to distinguish male from female, rather than a mod on its own. When I reinstall choosing "DFS" again, my feet once again sink into the floor. And choosing "Vanilla" puts them back above the ground. So perhaps it's just the missing mod (which isn't in the required files on any of the pages, but maybe some people misinterpreted the qualifications for the options like I did. Because often if you don't have a mod installed, Vortex whites out the option so that you can't choose it) that could be the fix for someone. This one feels the most influential, if I try to think about it like a coder.

After further testing, it is noted: Doing what is outlined in 2 above does not resolve the issue itself, but allows the tutorial method to work for me. (While trying that method, I set the height value on one outfit to something obviously ridiculous so I could tell at a glance if it worked or not.) So if some things still sink into the floor...that possibly just means you have some leg work to do. But I hope this helps it to be easier and less frustrating.

I have also refused to let steam update my game to the latest version. (It did, somehow, but there was a "downgrade" mod that I put on my computer to place me back in the version previous. I also don't believe this to be particularly influential, except in that the Script Extender does not take the newest version of Fallout 4 yet at the time of typing this.)

    Sorry for my English.

Hi, I apologise for being another person who can't seem to get this mod working. I have installed the HHS as per the insturctions I've got a skeleton file the cbbe knee fixes with the discrete skeleton. I use MO2, downloaded the most recent version of the mod as well as F4SE. As mentioned the cbbe knee fixes is installed along with the discrete skeleton. I've got an ada wong re4 dress mod that has heels. The original text file has the heel height at 7.5 in the text file which i confirmed by trying the modpos z height console commands. I copied this text file to Fallout 4 High Heels System\F4SE\Plugins\HHS and the heels are still at the below ground level. Not sure what's going wrong, I dont have any other body or skeleton files other than CBBE. I also tried the Skeggjald Suit which I think has a heel height baked into .ba2 files and it was also below the ground level.
