Honestly, I would have been happy with a straight port of FO3 weapons into FO4, but instead we got this retro-weapon arsenal.  A Tommy gun in 2287?  Some mash-up of a carbine and a shotgun as the "combat rifle?"  And an Art Deco variation of a Maxim Gun for the assault rifle? How did FO4 occur after FO3 yet go back in firearm technology time? -  I want to believe they didn't get lazy with their graphical assets... soooooo want to believe.

Anyway, I wasn't happy with any of the Assault Rifle replacers I found for your typical assault rifle mods, but DID really like Scail's FO2 Light Support Weapon.  It makes better sense to me as something Supermutants would carry instead of that abomination with which they equip themselves.  Interesting note, however, is that the Light Support Weapon has it's own ammo *.esm (.223 round) that you need to use with it.  I didn't need another ammo, so I just made this patch to also apply the New Calibers .223 Remington to the LSW in addition to replacing the game's AR-51 Assault Rifle.  That being said, you will still need to load that *.esm file from Scail's mod because it's required by his *.esp.  You can remove it, I guess, if you want in FO4edit, but that's something you'll have to do on your own.  As a result with this mod, you'll get both the .223 Remington from New Calibers AND the .223 round from the LSW mod distributed throughout the wasteland.

NOTE:  this mod is VERY MUCH a BETA!  So, expect a few minor issues, and I'll do what I can to fix them as they come up.  Once again, this was a personal patch I made for my latest playthrough, but I'm sharing it in case there is any interest. And it's also my first replacer, so there's that. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!  I'm only one guy playing one game with one set of mods so I can't possibly know the ramifications of IDIC when it comes to Fallout 4 mod'ing.  There are PLENTY of opportunities for this mod to bork your playthrough...

INSTALLATION:  Download and install with your mod manager of choice, hopefully MO2, because it's vastly superior to all others.  You need to stick it somewhere below the required mods, obviously, and if you don't already know to do that, watch some YouTube videos about mod'ing, please.
