About this mod

Combined light distance with surround lighting that greatly enhances the light emitted from the pip-boy and the power armor headlamps.

Permissions and credits
The light emitted from the pip-boy and the power armor helmets in the vanilla game are weak at best, so here is a mod to change that.

THIS MOD COMBINES 360 DEGREE PIP-BOY LIGHTING WITH ANOTHER MOD THAT TWEAKS LIGHT DISTANCE AND FALLOFF/FADE FOR THE POWER ARMOR HELMETS

This is an omnidirectional light but I used the "360 lighting" term so everyone can understand better what the mod does.

WHY I DECIDED TO COMBINE THE MODS ?
When you look at the power armor headlamps in Fallout 4 you will find that they have a cone shaped beam and then anything outside of that....well nothing, the light fades out within a very short distance/diameter. Combine this with atmospheric weather mods which make the weather as it should be/darker, and you might as well take the helmet off. Well don't take your helmet off just yet because with this mod you'll light up a large area as if it was a settlement.

Having weather mods such as True Storms or Weather Redux and any mod that affects lighting such as Darker Nights or (My Personal Favourite) NAC never combined well with the vanilla pip-boy light and the power armor headlamp. This mod will by no means make the 360 lighting lifelike because the cone is no longer present, but it retains the long distance light travel and realistic falloff points and will enable you to light up large areas and see through the thick fog and into the dead of night and anything that is lurking behind those dead tress 10+ meters in all directions, which would be impossible with vanilla and in the right conditions.

GOING BRIGHTER
If you want to go even brighter you can download the "BrightWhite" esp file which has an extended radius than the default file.

BEST USED FOR/BENEFITS
  • Mods that have dark weather types such as True Storms and Nuclear weather.
  • Heavy rain that has a heavy fog effect which is added again by weather mods.
  • Mods that change the lighting of the game such as Darker Nights and NAC
  • Weather types that have very heavy fog which is found within mods such as NAC and Vivid Weathers.
  • In 3rd person you longer need to have your character face the direction that you want the light to be in because all directions have the same light levels.
  • Excluding Diamond City and some parts of Vaults, the pip-boy/headlamp will pretty much be able to light up the entire diameter of all interior cells in the base game.
  • I highly recommend using the Advanced A.I Tweaks mod created by KeyC0de so you will become easier to spot by NPC'S which makes sense given the enhanced lighting. His mod can be found here.
  • The pip-boy light is also affected by the mod so it's not limited to just power armor users.
  • This mod may work with mods that add power armor to the game, power armor mods tend to use the base game helmets so my mod will affect those added power armor mods, this is not always the case though.
  • If you have a companion it's possible for you to shine the headlamp onto your companion and an NPC will spot him/her and start to attack without seeing you. So even when in cover and you don't want your companion to be seen, it's best to keep the light off at all costs. The same applies to NPC'S. It's possible to light up an NPC making it easier for it's enemy to see it, just make sure the NPC is not facing you when you turn the light on.

INSTALLATION/MANUAL
Place the esp file into your steam/steamapps/common/Fallout4/Date folder. MAKE SURE TO DISABLE ANY MOD THAT CHANGES THE PIP-BOY LIGHT OR POWER ARMOUR HEADLAMPS as this mod may cause conflict.

IMPORTANT
Always test a mod first before saving your game, when satisfied that it works as described you may save.

And finally, ENJOY THE LIGHT.

ALL CREDITS go to "Layam" who is the creator of the "Better Headlamps" mod that greatly increases the distance of the power armor headlamp, along with realistic falloff effect. The effects of that mod are used in this one.

His mod can be found here.
