About this mod

An old warhorse has found its way to Boston. Adds in the Smith & Wesson Model 1917 revolver, with scripted leveled list integration and even a unique variant. Double and single-action animations, too!

Decided to do something a little special to commemorate the 75th anniversary of D-Day. So, why not port over one of the lesser known weapons that some of our boys carried with them?

The Smith & Wesson Model 1917 is a big, beefy .45 ACP revolver. Six rounds in the cylinder, simultaneous ejection and moon-clip loading made it a decent option when introduced in 1917 as a supplementary handgun, and the sheer ruggedness of the Smith & Wesson design meant that it never left service even a century later. If you're lucky, you might find a few kicking around today, over 350 years after its' introduction.

Update: As of the 0.7 build, the unique has been moved to a display case in the National Guard Training Yard. There's also a base version of the gun on a desk somewhere in the Museum Of Freedom in Concord.

Full, scripted leveled-list integration. The base model in .38 should start popping up around level 5, with the .45 starting to appear between 10 and 15.

Currently, this is a very rough alpha build. There's still a lot of work that needs to be done, and unfortunately a lot of it is beyond my skill-set. So it may be a few weeks before there's any major updates, especially since I'm juggling three other projects on top of this. Despite that, the gun should work just fine.

Current known issues:

1: Naming convention is off with the double-action receivers. Fairly sure I know how to fix it, but honestly just can't be arsed to do it right now.

2: No visual differences between the varying grips. Will be fixed at some point within the next week, again I just can't be arsed right now.

3: Lot of EditorIDs still haven't been renamed. Used the RSh-12 plugin as the base, will clean that up over the weekend. Not really an issue, but still annoying as hell.

PLANNED ADDITIONS:

At least one more unique variant with its' own custom effect.

Adding in short quests for both unique variants.

At least two or three material swaps.

Different meshes for the different grip options.

CREDITS:

Wardaddy - Animations

New World Interactive - Meshes, textures, audio.

Me - Implementation, conversion, etc.

DMagnus - Letting me use his RSh-12 as the base.
