Have you ever noticed how the Vaults in Fallout 4 (with the exception of the inhabited part of 81) are filled with all manner of dirt and debris, yet the furniture looks immaculate like it just came off the showroom floor? Same goes for the Vault furniture you can build in workshop mode. I’ve noticed it, and I’m kinda sick of it.

Enter, “Rusty Workshop Vault Furniture.” It aims to make the Vault furniture you build for your settlements look like it’s actually been around for 200 years, and not fresh out of the factory.

The mod adds 28 dirty, rusty and crusty retextured Vault-related items to the Furniture tab of the workshop menu. No vanilla items are replaced or modified. All items in the mod have been added as new records using custom textures. I much prefer the used and abused look of some of the Vault gear in FO3/FNV and try to make things look like they did back in the gold ole days of Fallout.

The full list of Vault furniture added by the mod is:

Furniture > Beds:
1. Vault Bed Option 1
2. Vault Bed Option 2
3. Vault Bunk Bed Option 1
4. Vault Bunk Bed Option 2
(Bunk Beds can sleep two settlers and count as two beds towards the settlement total)

Furniture > Chairs:
5. Metal Dining Chair
6. Folding Chair
7. Vault Picnic Table
8. Vault Bench – Small
9. Vault Bench – Large

Furniture > Containers:
10. Vault Locker Grey Rusty – Unlettered

15. Vault Locker Grey Rusty – Melee Weapons

Furniture > Misc:
17. Vault Cart
18. Vault Night Stand
19. Vault Toilet (features animated mesh created by bruce142)
20. Metal Sink 01
21. Metal Sink 01
22. Porcelain Sink
23. Drinking Fountain
(All sinks and water fountain give Purified Water)

24. Vault Shelf 01
25. Vault Shelf 02
26. Vault Shelf 03
27. Vault Shelf 04

Furniture > Tables:
28. Vault Table

With the exception of the Porcelain Vault Sink, all textures in this mod are custom made using the Bethesda HD Texture set as a base. All of these textures have been previously used in my player home mods on the respective Vault items. The Porcelain Vault Sink uses the vanilla SinkBroken01_d.DDS file. I already use a replacer texture for this file from the FlaconOil texture set and didn’t feel like making a new one...I couldn’t do any better than FlaconOil anyway! If you want a nice replacement for the porcelain sink, I highly recommend that one. All of my diffuse files are 2K. Most normal and specular maps are still vanilla files, but the few custom files of those I do have are a mix of 1K and 2K.

This does NOT add items to the workshop any by any sort of script injection. There is always a chance it will conflict with mods that modify and/add items to the Furniture tab of the workshop menu. I’ve tested it using mods that add several dozen of new Furniture items, and there were no issues. Your mileage may vary.

Your load order is your responsibility. I will not support, "fix" or otherwise address any such issues should you encounter them.

1. Q. Any chance that you can add item X, Y and Z?
A. No, No, and No. I made this mod for my own game and am content with what is in it. I have no plans to add anything more to it. It is what it is.

2. Q. HALP! It doesn’t work. Plz fix!A. First off, you need to be more specific than “It doesn’t work.” Most “problems” are a result of a mod being improperly installed. Recent versions of Nexus Mod Manager have become highly unreliable and seem to have problems installing mods properly, especially ones with large archives such as this mod. Try reinstalling the mod and/or adjust your load order. Re-install manually if you are still having trouble after that. I do not use nor do I have any interest in Vortex, and can not answer questions regarding it.

3. Q. My Furniture menu is screwed up and/or missing
A. See the above “POTENTIAL MOD CONFLICTS” section. As noted there, I will not support or address issues caused by mod conflicts on your end. If you somehow break any of your workshop menus, the Workshop Menu Missing Tabs Fix mod may (or may not) be of help to you.

6. Q. Any chance of an ESL version?
A. You may want to look in the Files tab before asking questions like this.

Use the mod manager of your choice,

Or to install manually:

Extract the archive. It contains three files:
RRTV_Rusty_VaultFurniture – Main.BA2
RRTV_Rusty_VaultFurniture – Textures.BA2

Place all three files into your Data folder. Manually activate the mod in your plugins.txt file.

An optional .esl version is also available in the Files tab.

Before jumping on the .esl bandwagon, you should familiarize yourself with the pros and cons of using these files! Gamer Poets has an excellent video with what you need to know before blindly installing dozens of .esl files.

Animated Normal Toilet Modders Resource by bruce142
Many thanks to bruce142 for making this mesh available as a modder’s resource!

Other Notes:
1. This mod is PC only. There will not be a console version, so please do not ask.

2. Based on any texture replacements you have installed in your game, the appearance of items in the mod may vary from what is shown in the screenshots and promo video. I use many texture replacements in my game and videos, and none of them are included in this mod.I use the Decent Plus ENB preset for my screenshots, videos and gameplay.

You are welcome to use/showcase my mods in your reviews, mod showcases, and Let's Play videos.
