I can also offer you a little tidbit to make your process easier:
If you include the static form StaticCollectionPivotDummy in your SCOL, that object will become your origin. So you can always control where your nodes are relative to without having to adjust the transform in Nifskope!

For starters: Try creating an object using cinderblocks, planks and plywood.
