Regarding the Brown-Face Bug, please note the following:

    • The HD DLC is NOT 2K faces. The vanilla game is 500 x 500, and the HD DLC only increases face resolutions to 1K (1024 x 1024). (I might've given incorrect information about this before, and if so, I apologize.)
    • 2K Hancock only works if you have downloaded one of the other 2K face textures here on Nexus, such as Real HD Face Textures 2K. Those mods contain all the facial assets such as eyebrows, scars, moles, etc., at 2K resolution that this mod also uses. They all have to be the same resolution for it to work.
    • Other resolutions (i.e., 4K, 8K) are not currently available. Will this be an option? Yes! But I have to learn out how to upscale them (preferably through ESRGAN rather than Photoshop's upscaling, which can have mixed results) before I post anything. Right now I don't have a way to test that in-game, but as time goes on and GPUs get better and more available, I will do so to keep up with the demand for higher resolutions. I'm just beginning the process, so I don't know if it'll be a week or a month, but I hope soon. Stay tuned for that.

If you are getting the Brown-face Bug, you have two choices:

    • Download a 2K face pack such as Real HD Face Textures, or
    • Downgrade back to 1K of this mod.

If you have done the above two things and are STILL getting the Brown-face Bug:

    • Go back through your mod list and uncheck any mods that might affect skin textures for both ghouls and humans, including 4K skin textures or ghoul mods.
    • Check mod pages that change ghouls for patches that don't make changes to Hancock's character. I know there are a couple, but I don't recall which ones at the moment. You have to do a little digging on your own.
    • See steps 1 & 2 above if you still have issues.
    • Swearing might help.

Depravity - A Harmless Bit of Fun patch has been added. Before you mess up your game, read the following:

    • I have not thoroughly tested this patch myself. I don't use Depravity, but it should work. My guess is if it doesn't, you'll know when you get to a certain point. (Trying to remain spoiler-free, here.)

    • This patch is for Hancock's default look in the images on the main mod page--that is, beardless with long hair. I haven't done any other choices yet because I'll have to change the whole mod if I do, but I am considering at least a few options.

    • If you change any of Hancock's looks in LooksMenu within the game (i.e., hair, skin tone, eye color, beard style, etc.) it will break the immersion for Depravity. Again, my guess is when you get to a certain part, you'll  know right away whether something is screwed up. You can either re-run the FOMOD installer for Sexy Hancock 4.0, or live with it. It shouldn't mess up the story, though, since it's purely a visual change.

    • Load order matters! Read the description on the optional files when you download for an example order. It's safe to say you should probably put this mod and the patch below the Depravity file.

    • I am not endorsing Depravity, nor am I offering support for it. I honestly don't know anything about it or the author who made it. I just dug through the files to find out what the conflict or difference was since some users were asking for it. If something about Hancock appears amiss and you have checked load order and other factors, let me know and I'll take another look.

Does this version of Sexy Hancock need a patch for Depravity like the original mod did? I opened up xEdit and it said their was no conflicts but but I am a complete xEdit novice.

Sorry for the late reply! Life has been full of challenges lately. As for Depravity...I have no idea. Neither Depravity or the Patch say what exactly changes about Hancock, and I'm strictly stuck on an iPad right now for a while while my house is being gutted. I doubt their patch would work for this mod, though. I'd say make a test save and try it? Just load this below Depravity and see what happens. Abort if it doesn't work. I won't be able to make a patch for a while though, but I'd still like to know what you found out!

I haven't used Depravity myself but knowing the spoilers about it, it would absolutely need a patch.

I assume a patch would be pretty quick and easy using face ripper but then again, my assumptions are almost always wrong lol.

I was able to make a patch and test it (yay for console commands like tgm lol). Is there any way I can send to you for you to host it?

I would absolutely love that patch if you wouldn't mind sharing! I made it to "that one part" in Depravity, and I was getting a CTD every time I tried to enter the State House, so I downgraded to the original SH with the old patch, but now I'm dealing with a brown face issue because I have 2k face textures. I think I might just have to give up Depravity, but that's so sad because it adds so much great content for those of us on our 1094279th playthrough.

So yeah, I'd be forever grateful if you messaged the link to me directly, please!

P.S. Would it be a problem if you just posted the patch on your own? Being respectful of creators and making sure not to steal content is crucial, yes, but I was under the impression that patches are fair game since they just help two mods work better together... I'm sure someone will tell me if I'm wrong though.

So sorry to bother but do you perchance still have the patch for Depravity? Apologies!

I'm looking at the files now and man the Depravity mod has LAYERS. I keep finding other things I need to download and install. Now that I see what's happening (I'm trying to remain spoiler free), I can do it, but it's gonna take me a day or so to get it working. Hang in there with me!

Thank you for answering! Yes, there is an overlay preset for the skin for the PC, but you have to go into Looks Menu > Body to apply it, or start a new game with it active. It's not at all lore-friendly, unless you're using Start Me Up or some kind of alternate start up mod, and I have no idea how those would interact. But yes, if you want to use a ghoul skin that looks identical to this Hancock skin, you should be able to do so.

Question here. I play on PS4. Does anyone know if this or a similar mod is on PS4? Searching doesn't always come up with mods as the names for some reason aren't the same on PS4 as they are on PC.

    Thanks in advance!

EDIT: I ended up buying the game for PC so I can use this mod now lol.

Oh my goodness, so sorry. 2023 was an absolute s#*! show for me, and I dropped off the planet for a while to deal with it, so I didn't see this until now. Glad you got a PC and it works! PlayStation is the hardest to mod for because it doesn't allow you to import any outside textures or models, so you can only mess with the vanilla game assets, which made textures really hard to work with for PS. I did a XB1 version, but not PS. There used to be one that basically mapped the ghoul texture to the human face, and it was okay, but it doesn't look like there's one there currently, though on Beth.net.

Yeah. PC is the way to go with this game. I can't imagine trying to mod on either console.

Hah yeah I learned the hard way that PS4 really sucks for mods. Thanks for the reply, though. I really enjoy this mod, it really does feel more like the Hancock from the game lore.

Hi! I successfully installed this mod on my MO2, but I wonder how can I make some changes to his handsome face? I have the F4SE and download the looks menu, but I still don't understand how am I able to manage his facial features like what you showed in the pictures.

Make sure you're standing directly in front of him in some decent lighting, open the console with the "~" key.

Click on him to get his ID (I think its 22613).

Then type "slm 22613 1" then enter.

After that you should be able to exit the console by hitting the "~" key again and make changes. :)

edit: nevermind, installed some bug fixes and ran fallout through F4SE that fixed it. thank you for mod :)

Oof. Not easy to troubleshoot without knowing more, but this really is made to be used with higher resolution skin textures across the board for all humans and ghouls. It's not really meant to run alone. The problem sounds like he's higher res than the rest of the face textures in your game.

That being said, there's a few ways you could fix it:

      • Download the Hi-Res Texture pack DLC. It's a huge download (50 GB, I think?) and some report it as a system drain depending on your setup, but it increases resolution of the faces for ghouls and humans from 500x500 to 1000x1000 ppi.
      • Install something like Enhanced Vanilla Bodies, which also increases standard resolution of those face assets. You might also need something like Additional Body Textures for Ghouls EVB and CBBE  for the ghoul skins, too. Just install the EVB part, not the CBBE if it lets you.
      • Probably the easiest fix: Uninstall my mod and install Dysthe's original Sexy Hancock mod which keeps his face resolution at 500x500. It's lower res than mine, obvs, and maybe not quite as "sexy" IMO, but that's the face that launched a hundred other copycat mods, including this one.

Those are basically your choices. You gotta go up or down. If you decide to go higher res though, be prepared to download and fiddle around a lot.

The last option I didn't mention is to just downscale the assets in this mod to 500x500. While that sounds easy, if you're never worked with texture files and normal maps before, it's a huge learning curve. I'd do it for you and upload a low-res version, but my house is being gutted from flood damage and all my toys are packed away for a while. 😢

Hello, all! Just a quick note to say hi and sorry I haven't been around much. My house flooded back at the beginning of December 2022 and we've had to pack away all our toys in the interim until all the flooring and a several feet of the drywall is replaced. I see a couple people have jumped in and tried to answer questions, and I truly appreciate your help! Could be another 6 weeks or so before I'm fully back up and running again, because we also have the joy of moving everything back in and unpacking...again! So, if I don't go insane in the meantime, take it easy, check the troubleshooting sticky post here for help, and if you can't find an answer, maybe some kind soul here will be able to help if I can't.

    Stay frosty, y'all.

So long as you have no other mods affecting non-feral ghouls (texture mods that would affect eyes or skin for example), this should work for your game. My best advice is to make a test character, get them out of the vault, and see if mods you are unsure about are working. I'd recommend using Mod Organizer 2 to do your modding as it does not touch your vanilla game files so if you install something and want to remove it on a new game (I'd advise against removing mods mid-playthrough) then you dont gotta worry about breaking your game. I'd watch a youtube tutorial on Mod Organizer 2 or use Vortex for your modding as activating mods through them is very simple! I wish you the best of luck, theres a lot of tutorials and Q&A guides on modding fallout and you'll get the hang of it in no time coming from someone who used to be scared of even modding the sims because I thought it was too complicated lol! <3

I'm so dumb when it comes to FO4 modding. >.<

Is there a way to get this to work with the White Hancock eyes from Ghastly?

Sorry it took me so long to reply. Stuff happens, blah blah blah, work/life balance, [insert favorite excuse], etc. To your question, yes, but it takes a bit of file jockeying to do.

      • Manually download Ghastly and unzip to a folder on your desktop.
      • Find the texture file you want to use from Ghastly via the Textures > Actors > Character > Eyes file path. It should end in *_d.dds (the * being the filename, of course).
      • Search for the file HancockEyes_d.dds on your machine and open the folder location. This is the name of the default file I used for Hancock's eye texture in this mod.
      • Rename the file from Ghastly you want to HancockEyes_d.dds and overwrite my texture with the one you just renamed from Ghastly. The folder path should be Textures > Actors > Character > Eyes.

Now, that's all there is to it for a simple texture replacement. However, looking at Ghastly, there are also some options that use glow maps and different meshes. I see two "white" eye textures in Ghastly: the optional "Dark - White Pupil" one, which you can do using the method I described above, or the "Hancock - Eye Glow White" that makes his entire eye white so he looks completely blind, and would take significantly more work and possibly some messing around in FO4Edit to map correctly. So, which is it?

Hmm. A few questions to help me help you troubleshoot:

      • Are you using LooksMenu? to make the changes?
      • Can you change anything else, whether it be hair, face morphs, etc.? (Be sure you make a backup save before you try so you can revert your changes!)
      • Are you using the latest version of this mod? If you upgraded from a previous version, were you sure to overwrite the old one? (A better practice might be to completely uninstall and reinstall the mod completely as those eye textures were added since the old version--just don't open your game in between!)
      • Do any of the other ghouls seem to be affected by this, or just Hancock? (Hopefully it's just him, but it could be something to do with the whole GhoulRace, not just him.)

Give those a shot and let me know what you find out.
