About this mod

This mod add a list who contains the ID of most of the unique characters in the game, DLCs included. Having this catalogue will allow you to relook them or do whatever you want with the console, without the need to constantly search their ID on the internet or by clicking on them (which can be tedious with some mods)

Permissions and credits
I made this mod because i love to relook the characters, be it companions or simple settlers or town inhabitants.
However, altough i came to flawlessly remember the ID of several NPCs i have to habit of relooking, it becomes quickly annoying when i want to relook another NPC to first have to obtain his ID: i want to relook him right now !

This is why this mod is here: it adds a document who contain the ID of almost every unique relookable NPC in the game.

This document can only be obtained by using a console command, a bat file is included in the mod, more details further in the description.

This list also provide the ID of the DLC characters, BUT THE MOD BY ITSELF DOES NOT REQUIRE ANY DLC.

To relook a NPC, you have to type the following command: showlookmenu [ID of the NPC] ; you can also type the command: slm [ID of the NPC].
Showlookmenu is one of the rare commands affecting NPCs who actually need you to enter the ID of the NPC to work, this is why you need to know it; and to know it, you have two ways: or going on the internet, but it's too much a pain in the ass; or you click on the NPC to have it's ID, but it's again tedious, especially if you want to relook several NPCs in the same area.

Carefully note this: DON'T try to relook a NPC who is NOT physically present in the same cell than you: your game would instantly CTD.

This document is separated into several categories, so you can more easily find the characters IDs you are needing, the document itself contains explainations.

The document does not contain the IDs of unique characters who are appearing only during certain quests and are either removed or killed after the completion, no matter your choices, to give you a clear example: Conrad Kellogg's ID is not provided, because Kellogg's only appear at the end of the quest to retrieve him, and you are forced to kill him: in those conditions, relooking him would be completely useless.

Also, the document does not contain the IDs of every unique NPC in the game, namely the base game settlers, who, altough they are unique and relookable NPCs, are unnamed, and giving their ID would also force me to go through a overly complicated processus of description; for those who are interested at having named settlers and NPCs; try this mod: People have a name
As some NPCs in People have a name are also part of the ID provided by List of all characters IDs, know that they are NOT changed: their ID stay the same, no matter you have People have a name or not.

Depending of the success of this list, i may update the file to include the ID of every character who obtained a name with People have a name.

The file also contains a text file whose goal is to be put in your Fallout 4 folder (not the Data folder), it is meant to be used as a bat file, to give you the list, the bat file is specifically made to work NO MATTER the load order of List of all characters IDs, however, as the bat file contains the command for every single possible place in the load order, you will receive tons of error message when you will use the bat command; ignore them: the list has been correctly added to your inventory.

For those who don't know how to use the bat command, open the console and type: bat CharactersID
Note that even if i wrote Characters with a capital letter, the game does not consider them so you don't need to switch to them; and of course, feel free to rename the file if it suits you better.

And, know those ID can also be used to whatever need or purpose you have, i made this for relooking purposes, but anything, from moveto player to resurrect also works with those same IDs; it's up to you.

Of course, i can't end this description without giving you the link to Looks Menu: Looks Menu
