I'm well aware of the existence of similar mods, Hoodless BOS Field Scribe's Hat and Hoodless Field Scribe Hat.

However, there's a few things I dislike about these mods:
-To some extent, both of them leave some of the hood behind on the mesh
-The bottom of the hat is open, and while realistic, it leaves some strange looking empty space on some character heads' shapes.
-Neither include a patch for Armorsmith Extended, but include .esps for making hair show up underneath.

Additionally, I've discovered that exporting the same mesh from Outfit Studio multiple times actually degrades the smoothness of the mesh, causing some polygons on the mesh to be lost, resulting in it looking more jagged in some areas where it wasn't before. I took great care to avoid that, so this one should look exactly like the default mesh in terms of 3D quality.

So, I took it upon myself to remove the hood from the Field Scribe's Hat myself, and more to my own personal liking:
-The bottom of the hat is completely sealed, so it should appear as a perfect fit on the head of any character.
-No trace of the original hood is left, not even where it normally wouldn't be visible.
-I've tweaked the shape of the meshes because by default they've been shaped slightly to accommodate for the shape of the hood underneath.
-I've also tweaked the angle at which the hat sits on a character's head so it leans further forward, as by default it was tilted slightly upwards also due to the hood.
-The included .esp is to get hair show up underneath the hat now that the hood is no longer present. I've also included an Armorsmith patch for users of Armorsmith Extended. If you do NOT want hair to show up underneath the hat, simply do not install or activate the .esp, as that is its only purpose.

I'm no modeller by any means, so how the hat is sealed at the bottom may look a little strange, shading-wise. However it will hardly be noticeable, as the idea here is just to make the edges appear as though they fit around the character's head perfectly.

This mod will replace the vanilla Field Scribe Hat, meaning Brotherhood of Steel Field Scribes will wear it, and it is not a unique item.

I've only tested this hat with a couple of hairstyles. Unfortunately most, if not all vanilla female hairstyles will likely clip with the bottom of the hat, however I've decided this looks fine for the most part, considering that the size needed in order to prevent all clipping on female characters would make the hat appear unsettlingly large. Most male hairstyles should be fine, however.
