About this mod

This mod adds Gamma Receiver mods to the Radium Rifle from the Far Harbor DLC. As a bonus, it also improves Gamma Guns so they deal some base energy damage and their ammo capacity is doubled.

IMO, the base Radium Rifle has a lot of wasted potential, as in practice it is a weaker Combat Rifle with the Irradiated legendary mod slapped to it and which requires investment in both Gun Nut and Science to be upgraded.

So I added in some gamma receivers which completely overhaul the Radium Rifle, note that the regular receivers are untouched so you can still use the vanilla
weapon.

These receivers change the damage from ballistic/radiation exposure to energy/radiation exposure plus some extra pure radiation damage like the Gamma Gun has. The projectiles become a smaller version of the Gamma Gun' s blasts, or the exact same if you're using the Heavy Receivers, which means that shots now
have a small area of effect explosion. And of course the ammo supply changes from .45 to gamma rounds. To keep it balanced, the energy damage is half of what the ballistic damage would be. Still, the gamma receivers are very powerful and unlike with most weapons of the game, the automatic versions are actually superior due to the additive rad damage. The perk investment required to upgrade it and the scarcity/high price of its ammunition are what keeps this somewhat balanced.

Gamma Guns now have some base energy damage (the Electric Signal Carrier mod is untouched) so the weapons aren't useless against non-human enemies and the Children of Atom don't become a joke if you're wearing a Hazmat Suit. Their ammo capacity is doubled from 8 rounds to 16. Lorenzo's Artifact and the Zeta gun remain unchanged but will benefit from the new base energy damage and ammo capacity.

All Gamma explosion effects now deal some radiation exposure damage of their own; previously only a direct shot would add rads, with the explosion itself only dealing pure radiation damage.

All Heavy variants are heavier (obviously), shoot wider blasts (the same as a vanilla Gamma Gun) and have more pure radiation damage, but the energy and radiation exposure damage is the same of the light variants. The receivers have the same perk and material requirements of their ballistic counterparts.

As an interesting note, while making the mod I noticed that the advanced receiver of the Radium Rifle is referred to in the game files as "ammoconversion", so maybe Bethesda was originally going to make something similar to this mod but it was cut.

This mod requires the Far Harbor DLC. It should not conflict with mods that edit the Radium Rifle as I didn't touch the base weapon, however it will conflict with mods that change the Gamma Gun, its projectiles and respective explosion effects.

I'll make a stand alone Gamma Radium Rifle mod (without the Gamma Gun tweaks) if someone aks for it.
