Is the Sole Survivor is a synth? Where's your synth component? It's under misc and (obviously) cannot be removed.
Huge shoutout to Mindy Auron for leaving a comment about this on the ShoddyCast video about the PC being a synth.
The component is automatically added when the cryopod opens for the "Out of Time" quest. I mean, it's not like "you" had one before being frozen.
