Version ALL
Changed the version names to be simpler and easier to sort. Content has not been changed.
Version 1.1.d
1.1.d - Added a new volume of drama, sci-fi, and suspense to main files. Replaces different Diamond City songs than the Comedy volume. Adds almost 2 hours of content.
1.1.ww Added the 1938 broadcast of War of the Worlds as optional. Replaces one Diamond City song. One hour long.
This mod adds old American radio shows from the 1940s, 50s and 60s.
NOW IN XWM FORMAT!
All "main" files are optional and can be used independently. They are simply replacements. You will still hear Travis announce the songs I have replaced.
There are no "versions", just volumes. Install in any order. Replace with different volumes when you've heard enough of the one installed. The file naming is the type and number of volume: Western Volume 5 is called W.5. See change log for info on episodes.
All of these files are considered public domain and are freely available to anyone at archive.org and many other OTR (old time radio) websites.
The following files are replaced by the comedy volumes:
The famous October, 30 1938 broadcast of H.G. Wells' "The War of the Worlds" by Orson Welles.
This is the broadcast that sent half of the American east coast into a panic. The show was presented as a real event, with a mock news report of an alien attack which interrupts normal programming. Some listeners thought it was real, and they overreacted. This file is separate because it is unique and is one hour long.
Other specials and volumes will be added and will replace different Diamond City songs. There is a version (CRR) which replaces the classical radio station music. Using NMM it will be easy to switch out volumes so you don't have to hear the same episodes over and over.
See changelogs for info on other Special Presentation volumes!
To install: Simply extract the contents into your Fallout4/Data folder or use NMM.
To uninstall: Use NMM or delete the above files, located in your Data/Sound/FX/MUS/Radio/DiamondCity folder.
Audio quality is not going to be up to normal standards; these were recorded 60 or 70 years ago, and then transferred to tape who knows how many times and then converted to digital and compressed. Still, they sound fine.
You may not agree with the songs I replaced. If so use jonwd7's B.A.E. - Bethesda Archive Extractor to find out the file names of songs you would prefer to replace. Then rename the file to a song you want to replace. You can also go to archive.org to find all kinds of radio shows and make your own set list.
