What is it?

Were you disappointed by the way Fallout 4 VR handled bladed weapons? I was. The large swinging arcs being the only way to deal damage makes sense with blunt weapons like the baseball bat, but aren't knives a little more versatile? Shouldn't you be able to stab things? I sure think so, that's why I made this mod. Here's how it works: you hit the trigger, you deal damage. It's roleplay, but not the sexy kind (good god I hope). Want to stab a ghoul? Thrust at it and hit the trigger, you'll deal damage. Want to sneak behind a raider and slit it's throat? As long as the blade is touching an NPC, if you hit the trigger you'll cause damage. Want to go full mallninja on a group of Gunners, even though you swore to your Sensei you never would? Hey, whatever floats your boat. This does NOT get rid of the swinging arc damage, it just introduces more options and makes the bladed weapons in Fallout 4 VR a little more interesting, but b
ecause this mod uses the trigger it seems to negate power attacks. There are 2 versions available, one for the base game and one for the base game + all DLC. This mod will not affect bladed weapon mods without a patch, it only changes the vanilla weapons. This is done by tagging all the bladed weapons as "automatic" in the Creation Kit.  You could hold the trigger down and cause constant damage if you wanted, but that's not the point of this mod. Try to have some restraint, it's what your Sensei would have wanted.


How to Install

Use a Mod Manager or add the .esp to your Data folder.


Compatiblity


Might not be compatible with other .esp files that mess with bladed weapons without a merged patch from FO4EDIT.
