If it wouldn't be too much trouble, any chance of a version that uses the bagless non-storage factory armor instead, or if you could point in me the direction of how to do that edit myself?
You can use fo4edit to change any part you want. Just load the mod and look at the non player character record. The parts that were changed are in a different color and all parts are clearly identified by their name between "" symbols. Just click on a part you want to change, wait a few seconds for fo4edit to process that (it is slow to do that due to the number of records involved), click on the drop down menu and choose the new part you want. If you want to get really fancy you can edit the second record this mod alters and change the costs listed there to reflect the new parts. Again, everything is clearly labeled. Once you are done, exit and save and it is done. If you don't have fo4edit you can download an oldish version from nexusmods.com or you can get the latest version at github (read the readme for this version, it needs some assembly before it works for Fallout 4) :https://github.com/TES5Edit/TES5Edit/releases The creation kit would also work but I never use it for this sort of thing so I can't guide you through it.
This is asking a lot, but is it feasible to design a version of this that let you construct 'Blueprints'? Preferably that saved form game to game.
I'd love to be able to select from 'ProvisionBot', 'MedicBot', and 'SentryBot' and have it autoconstruct 'Provisionbot-539' to start with or something similar.
Fully understanding if this is past what the interface can do.
Hey, thank you so much for this mod, just what I was looking for! I had hoped you could do this, for two reasons, to avoid the reset bug like you said, and to make the task of creating a robot army far less tedious!
Just curious, this mod seems to make factory setting Assaultrons, is it possible to make the default parts kind of fully upgraded, if that makes sense?
Thank you for this! exactly what i needed! so frustrating building bots everywhere only to have em reset >.<
I do have a question, i changed the esp in fo4edit to make the sentry model i use but it looks like id need 2 more 'include count' slots.. since sentry has an extra leg and id like the msat to be standard :P. Is there a way to make it include 22 options for limbs/mods instead of the 20? Allready tried just changing it to 22 but that doesnt magically give me the xtra lines added to assign parts...
You need to right click on the "includes" field at the top of the parts list (right above include #0)and use "add". That will add an extra "include #" slot below that you can use for another part. Also remember to update the "RNAM Race" field to the sentry bot race, otherwise the robot will use the assaultron animations.
I think there's a bug somewhere. I go to make a new bot, and it shows I have all the materials, yet it says I lack what I need to make a robot, and my only option is to quit out.
That's what happens if you don't have all the materials, the game doesn't give you the option to craft the robot. When you do have them all you get the "make" option, like you can see in the second screenshot. Also there are a couple of vanilla bugs related to workshop inventories that can falsely report that you have enough materials to craft something but the count is off by one or more and you can't actually craft the item. Moving the junk to your inventory usually clears that and lets you see what's missing.
Could you make another version that replaces the default automatron with parts that have the cheapest(material-wise) parts possible, and make the cost match?
This is already using the cheapest parts for an assaultron. If you were asking for something other than an assaultron then that is outside the scope of this mod. I saw someone publishing a mod that changes the default automatron into a Mr. Handy a few days ago, that might be the mod you want.
That would have to wait for the "Guards" by default, I put them on the Supply... But painfully dreary constantly create them in detail, and then get rid of the parts protectron...
So, as I understand, the default parts equipped as soon as you create a new robot would be a fully equipped factory Assaultron? That sounds fantastic, given I usually just spam those at my settlements! Definitely giving this a try.

Is there a way to make the default robot a Maxed out Sentry bot with shoulder cannons? I keep filling my inventory with a ton of assaultron mod parts.

Thanks for the mod.
