I'm a pretty big fan of DOOMBASED's Scar-LK mod, and I won't deny that the Scar is up there with the M4 and G36 as my goto assault rifles in most games.  So naturally I was excited when I saw a Scar-LK mod here on nexus.  And don't get me wrong, it's a great mod, great weapon, overall fun.

But let's face it.  It honestly falls short when compared to the Handmade rifle from the Nuka-World DLC.  It's great for vanilla and FH, and will last you through the early and mid game well, but once you hit around level 50 and get the Splattercannon/The Problem Solver hit the scene, you pretty much shelve every other automatic weapon.  Add to that the scarcity of 5.56 ammo compared to the sheer amounts of 7.62 ammo you can buy, there's really no point to using much else as automatic weapons go.

So this didn't really sit well with me.  I decided to make some enhancements and add to the Scar's end game usage.  And that resulted in the two mods I am now uploading.

The first mod contains two new barrels and one new stock, designed to bring it more in line with the handmade rifle as far as recoil and damage go.  They come close, but shouldn't surpass the handmade by much if at all.  I also adjusted the perk requirements for the stocks so that it makes sense (there're 4 stocks now instead of 3, so of course each level should require the next level of gun nut as opposed to having two at gun nut 4 with one being better).  As barrels go, I added a new short barrel, since it was severely lacking in a late game hip fire option, and one new long barrel to make it even MORE usable as an end game carbine.

The second mod simply contains a 7.62 ammo conversion.  The one thing that made DOOMBASED's Scar so amazing was the fact you could use .38-.50 ammo on it.  But I don't think it was designed with Nuka World in mind, so I added that conversion since 7.62 ammo is much easier to get.  Since the bullet is slightly larger, it will do more damage, but I reduced the firing rate to compensate for the increased damage.  Naturally Nuka World DLC is required for this one.

Due to comments posted about this mod, I have added versions of the files that SHOULD be compatible with the DOOMs Merged Weapons mod.

NEW UPDATE: 

Due to the release of the HK G36 mod by FX0x01, I have made a few updates to this file.  There are now 2 new receivers and 1 new mag, designed to keep this weapon on a similar league to the G36 (which is an insanely strong weapon).  However, it should be noted that these new mods are locked behind some rather stiff perk and material requirements, and due to the game engine being what it is, there are 3 perk requirements but only two are visible, so I'll list them below.

Advanced Automatic Receiver: Gun Nut 4, Science 4, Commando 5.  For all you auto nuts out there.
Prototype Advanced Receiver: Gun Nut 4, Science 4, Rifleman 5.  For dedicated semi builds.
Prototype Dense Quick Eject Mag: Gun Nut 4, Science 4, Quick Hands 1.  Just makes sense.  Need to know how to reload faster to build faster reload XD.
