Either your setup is awful, or  you haven't optimized your load order. I do get some FPS drop but it isn't much to be crying about. (And i do have a really low end machine).

There's one comment from five years ago that mentions FPS issues. And they said they had a 1050 TI, which by today's standards is awful.

Afraid you're the ignorant one here bud. Either your set up is awful or your load order is.

Your ignorance is only surpassed by your dishonesty, i have found 20 and thats just in the first 3 pages, one about 2 posts below, as well as the BUGS SECTION which indicates broken PRECOMBINES.
This mod breaks previs and precombines and there are fixes for this mod to stabilize the frame rate as is evident by the older comments which you NEVER BOTHERED TO READ, but as it stands,  it runs shocking even on my 3090 TI which should run this flawles.
I run A FOREST, with Splash of Pinetrees as well as SOME TREES mod, not to mention 4k version of The Fungal Forest, and i am also using the fog derived out of this mod and still get twice as much fps as I did with this mod, why ? because none of those mods break anything and they all run like they supposed to.

So go ahead, tell people how well it runs and blame their hardware or their "order" lol,  later dude....

im sorry but your word salad paragraph was utter nonsense as nothing within this mod even touches previsibines let alone break them.

For those that want to remove the fog and weather and have just the trees.

Step 1: Open Misty Pines Overhaul.esp in xedit
Step 2: Delete the weather group
Step 3: Right click Misty Pines Overhaul.esp and click "apply filter"
Step 4: At the bottom right of the box put a tick in Base Record EditorID contains / or FormID and put "DLC03MistFX512" in the box under it.
Step 5: Put a tick in Flatten Blocks/Sub-Blocks and Flatten Cell Children
Step 6: Once the filter is applied, hold alt and double click "Worldspace" on the left of the window
Step 7: Hold shift and click the first record and while still holding shift, click the last record.
Step 8: Press delete on your keyboard and confirm.

Step 9: Follow the same steps above except this time for step 4, filter for "CloudShape02"

    Save and close

Hopefully that's clear enough for people to understand. I'm not very good at explaining things and this was my first time using xedit.

If MassShep is willing to provide approval, I could upload the edited esp but its been a few months since he's been active.

This really wasn't too hard to do, so please give it a shot on your own and don't ask me to PM you the file. I'm not sure if there is some etiquette for how long you give someone to provide approval before sharing a modification of their mod.

Thanks so much! This is exactly what I wanted. I had never used the filter that way before! This comment should be pinned!

I like this mod an awful lot, though I cant help but notice that the trees grow in tight clusters and coming out at odd angles. Is this intentional, or is it a result of using other mods' tree placement while also trying to add extra trees or something? I am asking for immersion purposes!

Is there a way to have the weather without the trees?

A note to anyone considering this mod. It does look beautiful most of the time. However, I did have LOD and tree mesh/texture issues and some 'floating trees'. More importantly, it dropped my FPS in wooded/foggy areas by about 25 frames.

Now, I was willing to accept the FPS drop at first - I have a huge load order and a ton of high-resolution textures installed. However, I got sick of disabling the floating trees and the LOD + mesh issues started to bother me so I uninstalled.

Point is, for me, it looked amazing most of the time and I could live with the FPS drop (was getting like 30-35, without 50-60 in the same areas. That was my experience, yours may differ. It is really nice but has some issues, imo.

I found that if you just use the main ESP file by rezipping it and adding it to nexus you can get the mist effects without fps loss from the textures/ lod provided in the other files. You can then combine it with it another tree mod like BNS, Pines, Borreal, etc. Can't promise there are not any missing references or issues from this, but I haven't seen any yet. Looking in xEdit the main file alone just appears to add mist globally.

What do you mean by "main ENB file"? I just downloaded the mod, but there's no ENB file inside. Please, i'm trying to find out what ENB is used in those screenshots since spring, but still no info from the mod author, or someone else.

Sorry mate autocorrect, you need to rezip the ESP file.

Thank you for the solution! I love the whole atmosphere the fog brings and in combination with some other mods I finally made F4 look just how I wanted but the FPS drops from the fog were killing me.

Sepiroth, you are 100% correct, using the ESP file without the rest of the bloat forces the Far Harbor mist onto any weather in the Commonwealth, HOWEVER :

The frame rate drop in certain places is still shocking, I just removed it and everything is fine.
Stay away not worth it, even just using the ESP file still causes massive fps drops everywhere.

Yes, putting just the .esp in the data folder and activating works and only loads the mist.  A really great effect and very minimal performance impact, for me at least, and I can't run HD environment texture without it causing stutter.

Was wondering if there was any way I could get just the flora and the trees from this mod. Im not sure on how to do it using fo4edit or any other programs as Im too stupid to figure it out. :(

Would love a FOMOD menu to choose different options. I personally like the fog but already have a mod that adds trees, also the trees added in this mod obstruct the door to my Sanctuary Hills Hot Springs entrance.

Does anyone know of a mod that adds far harbor fog to commonwealth like this does without the trees?
