For some users who experienced CTD on game loading, please check out whether you use these mods: Floating Damage, Better Console, Crafing Hightlight Fix, Extended Dialogue Interface. These F4SE plugins use some unsafe multi-thread spinlock codes from F4SE to register menu open/close event sink when game is loaded,so they have a chance to cause CTD.I have reported this issue to F4SE team and updated Better Console and Floating Damage, please update them in time if you have them.I also informed reg2K about this issue,I think he will update his mods ASAP.

This comes from a different mod that has the same issue when used with this mod, but you can see if it fixes the issue for you!

      • Floating Damage - Can cause big blue boxes. If you encounter that issue, set this ini values in Fallout4Prefs.ini:
[Display]iShadowMapResolution=4096 [MAIN]; fHUDOpacity must be 1.00 or 1.000. Less or more "0" will cause issues (Yeah ... that's weird!)fHUDOpacity=1.00

Can confirm, the fallout4prefs.ini solution works. I thought it was an issue with DEF_UI for a second, but I also have an enb + True Storms and True Nights installed, dunno what's the source but so far the fix hasn't caused any additional issues so I'm sticking with it.

Oh, and to clarify, blue boxes, opaque boxes, black boxes, w/e it is that's causing weird artifacts including on your mouse cursor or vanilla UI...this solution fixed all of that for me.

See the other more detailed thread here for more possibilities.  Setting iShadowMapResolution to 8192 worked for me.  Supposedly it depends on your ENB settings.

through some troubleshooting after getting black boxes instead of the lockpicking UI after installing some mods i wanted to use, i found out this mod caused it, when installed there were no conflicts according to vortex. i do use EDI and BC, are these still not compatible with this mod like stated in the sticky?

The effect is only showing on headshots, is this normal?

Excellent mod. Please, could you do the same for Skyrim? There's one, but it's not working, and it's not looking as good as yours.

I'd really like to use this with Better power armor Redux, but apparently these two mods are not compatible due to using the same hooks or something. How hard would a patch be to implement? (I have left a post asking about a patch on Better power armor Redux's mod page too)

Another impact on shadow resolutions (if they are responsible for the blue boxes floating around) may be Shadow Boost FO4.

Can't get the mod to work :( Installed it as normal, along with MCM, but no numbers, and if I click any options to change them in MCM it's an instant CTD.  Would really like to get this to work, no idea why it isn't.

Should be a must have mod, but the amount of confict and issue doesn't worth it.

I don't underdtand why it has so many issue, too outdated?

How many years have passed, but there is still no fix with opaque boxes. Even if only this one mod is installed, this bug still appears once every three or four launches of the game.

    Good mod.
But sadly, it is not compatible with Energy Weapon Calculation Fix.
